A really impressive specimen from the 1999-2000 finds of spectacular American topaz specimens at the ZAPOT MINE in middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. This piece features a rising procession of 3 cm gemmy steely-blue topaz crystals that culminates in a SHARP 5 cm crystal with perfect termination! It is unfortunately contacted on the whole back face BUT it is pristine and complete from the front and presents the display qualities you'd want, anyhow. There were not many of these found by Harvey Gordon in basically one single glory pocket at the time, only several dozen good ones in all, and this is one of the top 10 or so in terms of display qualities and size that I am aware of. The mine is now not only defunct but nearly inaccessible as well. 8 x 8 x 3 cm
