The hardest crystals become the softest?! A superb specimen of two, super-sharp, complete-all-around, pseudo-hexagonal, light brown talc pseudomorphs after quartz crystals. This fine old-time piece is from a renowned locality for this rare replacement - the Johannes Mine, Bavaria, Germany. The quartz pseudomorphs are so sharp, that they look man-made, but the beautiful patina is diagnostic, that it is, in fact, natural and not carved from a massive talc block. It once was called "steattite." Ex. Mullane Collection.
