Gemmy and lustrous orange spessartine garnets cover the undulating surface of the feldspar matrix on this cabinet specimen from recent finds at Tongbei, China. This fine piece is very nicely accented with a couple of smoky quartz crystals, including a prominent, 1.2 cm "spire" and features a much larger than normal spessartine at 1.7 cm.
