Classic, powder-pink crystals of rhodochrosite from one of the most famous of the old Colorado silver-district localities. These crystals are sharp, and in superb preservation. They look like fired ceramic pottery, in person, I always thought. They seem to consist of layers of growth, some say pseudomorphs upon previous generations. In any case the soft color combined with strong geometry makes them obvious classics. Now rare on the market. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
