This is a LARGE, BEAUTIFUL slice through a cluster of stalactites of pure rhodochrosite. You can see the concentric structure of the stalactites, and how they intergrew over times, as the sedimentary deposition accumulated over time from the dripping of the solution in the vug or cave.
