RICE-10
Raspite and Stolzite
Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
Cabinet,
Ex. Rice Northwest Museum
SOLD
This rich specimen has an upper display face featuring about half a dozen SHARP AND GEMMY raspite crystals, to 6 mm, mixed with equally sharp and gemmy stolzite crystals to a really large 7 mm size. There is some damage, some broken crystals, but also many intact and freestanding as you seldom see (at least half a dozen good crystals of each species and several of those being superior quality as well!). It is overall one of the richer specimens of this classic combination I have seen, from the early 1900's. I have not had a specimen of either species here in ages, and to get the classic combo, on the same specimen, is a very treasured find! For the piece to be somewhat displayable as a pretty object, more so.
