A beautiful South Carolina amethyst specimen, where the crystals have formed on a sheet of amorphous quartz that is covered on the back side with milky quartz crystals. At the top of this specimen are silky crystals with a greater saturation of lavender color. At the bottom is a crystal that looks like a jewel: glass-clear, with just a faint blush of purple. For size reference, this crystal measures 3.8 cm. Ex. Hauck Collection.
