Pyromorphite
Bunker Hill Mine (Tyler; Stemwinder; Bunker Hill and Sullivan; Bunker Chance Mine), Bunker Hill Properties, Kellogg, Coeur d'Alene District, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA
Small Cabinet, 8.3 x 5.9 x 5.3 cm
SOLD
This very 3-dimensional specimen of pyromorphite is a rolling matrix with crystals to just over 1 cm, popping out dramatically and splaying slightly to the sides to create multifaceted sparkle on the display face as you look at all the angles from the sides. It is nearly pristine. Unusually for this habit, the tips have excellent, glassy luster and the stalks as well have luster. It was mined in the mid-1980s heyday here as opposed to "round 2" in the mid-1990s, as one can tell by the intense yellow color, sparkling luster, and slight orange pyromorphite underlayer.
