Small Cabinet, 6.0 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm
Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia
Pyromorphite is relatively rare from the Tsumeb Mine. And seldom do you see specimens with well-developed crystals and in abundance, such as this fine small cabinet piece from the Harvard Collection via exchanges. Lustrous, brown, fan-shaped bundles of acicular pyromorphite prisms to 7 mm are richly and attractively scattered on the vuggy, starkly contrasting, black gossan matrix. A most unusual and interesting Tsumeb rarity.
