Pyromorphite
Rosenberg Mine, Braubach, Bad Ems District, Lahn valley, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Small Cabinet, 6.8 x 5.5 x 4.4 cm

Green German pyromorphites have always been highly desirable and are much rarer than the brown ones in good specimens. This classic and excellent specimen is essentially solid pyromorphite and three sides are richly covered with sharp, lustrous, green crystals. The stunning crystal-filled vug covers one entire side and the other two sides are richly covered with olive-green prisms. The crystals reach 7 mm. According to John Ydren's card with the piece, he purchased this specimen from the Rosenberg Mine in May, 1965 from well-known dealer Brad van Scriver. Obviously old material, most likely from the 1800s. Ex. John Ydren Collection.
