Pyromorphites from Bad Ems are some of the most sought- after in the world, not only for their aesthetics but also the fact that virtually all the good ones were mined during the second half of the 1800's. This specimen tops most with its attractive orange brown color, caramel luster, translucence, and fine hexagonal barrel form. It is very 3-dimensional and hefty! The hopper terminations are also classic for the species. There is one very small broken crystal on the back, as well as occasional bruising (not unexpected on a mineral of such age and fragility); but they fortunately occur where they will not normally be seen (i.e. minimized by display angle choice so that is really not an issue in context). This IS a competition-quality display miniature today, as it was for the Dawson's decades ago. Chances to own a Bad Ems piece this good do not come along very often. 4.4 x 4.2 x 2.5 cm
