Phenakite is an uncommon beryllium silicate found in granite pegmatites and schists. This glassy, translucent and colorless, euhedral crystal has both stepped-growth and striated faces. This is a large, for the species, Colorado crystal and hails from the much less common Mt. White of Chaffee County. This is a classic and excellent mineral specimen from the Colorado Rockies.
