Miniature, 4.8 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm
Mt Antero, Chaffee Co., Colorado, USA

This is one of the great classic localities in Colorado that is known predominantly for its superb Aquamarine crystals. One of the main associated species at Mt. Antero are the great Phenakite crystals. This piece features a large, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, colorless rhombic crystal plus another smaller crystal of Phenakite on a Feldspar and Muscovite matrix. This specimen was collected approximately 20 years ago. For the size of the crystal, overall aesthetics of the specimen, and the great quality shown, it is a fine display piece from one of the most well known pegmatite localities in the western U.S. 4.8 x 3.6 x 3.0cm
