This specimen is from the new finds of Amazonite in Ethiopia. It features a beautiful, rich blue-green color, very well formed Carlsbad-twinned crystal on minor white Albite (var: "Cleavelandite"). These are easily some of the finest quality Amazonite specimens to reach the market in recent years. Aside from the specimens that occur at the Pike's Peak Batholith in Colorado, these are some of the most impressive Amazonite specimens around. This specimen even has good luster and is not at all pitted like many crystals from this area. A fine quality miniature with superb color.
