Melanotekite is a very rare lead, iron silicate and this nearly solid melanotekite specimen is from the Type Locality - the extremely complex manganese-iron deposit at Langban, Sweden. Scintillating, brassy melanotekite crystals richly cover all sides of the skarn matrix. Hefty at 115 grams. Accompanied by a faded Burminco label, which dates the piece to the 1950s to 1970s.
