Check out the amazing form of this specimen of calcite with sparkling marcasite from Shullsburg! The larger and smaller rhombs of silky calcite are perched on either side of the stalactitic marcasite, and in fact the whole assemblage appears to be a floater. There is a contact on the back side of the larger calcite that does not show from the display face. A really remarkable and elegant old Wisconsin piece, more striking in person. 3.9 x 3.9 2.7cm
