This specimen has two faces, one pretty and one rare. It is a solid chunk of shard quartz, completely re-healed all around and thus a floater, that is draped by thick, brilliant yellow lepidolite clusters all over the topside. The lepidolite is wonderful for this find. As a bonus, on the bottom side, you have a rare mineral species first described from this locality in 2006. Guimaraesite is a newly described complex calcium/zinc/magnesium/iron beryllium phosphate, which comes from an unnamed pegmatite working in this valley. This specimen is a complete floater quartz cluster the size of a large grapefruit, with exception only of one small bit on one side which is contacted. The bottom has rich coating of Guimaraesite in sub-mm spherical crystal clusters.
