Small Cabinet, 5.8 x 4.3 x 3.0 cm
N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Superb pink color and well-defined long slender crystals in aggregate growth place this specimen way above the average (if there is such a thing since they are so darn rare) Kutnahorite. The sharpness of the crystals the the fine color really do make this a very attractive and desirable specimen. The color is literally more red than you usually see for the stuff, and I wonder if that could be due to a peculiarly high manganese content in the specimen 5.8 x 4.3 x 3.0 cm
