Hagemannite is very rare, known only from the famous Cryolite Deposit at Ivigtut, Greenland. It is a mixture of impure thomsenolite with ralstonite and geothite. Thomsenolite and ralstonite are rare, complex halides and Ivigtut is the Type Locality for both species. The piece is essentially massive thomsenolite with a rich, thick crust of hagemannite. Probably mined around 1900. Ex. Mullane and Hageman Collections, and accompanied by old Ward's labels (one attached to the back of the piece) .
