A very rare, sharp, octahedral diamond from the Crater, now a state park. This specimen comes with a valid certificate showing it was found in 2004 by a visitor to the park. Having taken my kids there, I assure you it is hard labor and for most people, the payoff is nil. A find like this is major and only a few out of 100,000 find something this good per year from the steadily diminishing quantity of diamonds out there to be dug even as visitation and competition increase. This is sharply octahedral, which is uncommon. Most Arkansas diamonds are heavily rounded or broken and re-healed. At .69 carats, this is respectable for the locality. It has volume, depth, clarity, and a nice light brown color to it that makes it really shine.
