Miniature, 4.8 x 3.4 x 2.6 cm
Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia
These datolites are just amazingly gemmy, like a water-clear quartz or calcite - which is NOT typical for the species and makes this mini stand out. (They are colorless in person - the green tint came from the lighting/camera.) Also, datolites tend to be rather clunky specimens with more matrix than datolite, but the crystals are dominant on this one. They measure to 2 cm.
