Creedite
Navidad Mine (Mina Navidad; Abasolo Mine; Rodeo Mine), Abasolo, Rodeo, Mun. de Rodeo, Durango, Mexico
Cabinet, 10.1 x 6.4 x 4.7 cm
SOLD
As with the pink fluorites from the same locality, until these creedites were discovered, good crystallized specimens were exceedingly rare and expensive from ANY locality. Suddenly, you could own a really fine creedite without selling your house to get it. Then, a couple of months back, we heard that the mining was FINISHED, apparently for good. Fortunately, we had stashed some away! So if you do not have one, well, here is another chance. This specimen is actually made up of four intergrown balls, covered with large, gemmy orange creedite crystals to 1.5 centimeter in length. It has the added distinction of three pretty FLUORITES nestled in between them! You sometimes see bits of fluorite in assocation with these, but very seldom are they euhedral and attractive as these are. 10.1 x 6.4 x 4.7 cm
