Chalcopyrite, Calcite
Pea Ridge Mine (Sullivan), Meramec State Park, Washington Co., Missouri, USA
Small Cabinet, 6.9 x 5.2 x 2.5 cm
This is an OLD Missouri specimen from Pea Ridge - a group of brassy and bright crystals of chalcopyrite on a bed of calcite crystals that have been coated with a dark mineral, so that they provide a pretty contrast for the chalcopyrites. The chalcos have the jagged form typical for this locality.
