Chalcopyrite, Calcite
Pribram, Central Bohemia Region, Bohemia (Bohmen; Boehmen), Czech Republic
Small Cabinet, 9.1 x 5.3 x 5.2 cm
A striking, old-time and unusual specimen from Pribram, Czech Republic from the Richard Hauck Collection. Lightly iridescent, burnished golden chalcopyrite microcrystals preferentially coat a three-sided column of lustrous, colorless to gray, nail-head calcite crystals. The crowning glory of this amazing piece is a large, 4.2 cm, complex calcite rhomb sheathed in iridescent chalcopyrite.
