Pyromorphite
Wheatley Mine, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
Cabinet, 12.5 x 10.0 x 6.0 cm
Ex. Dr. Gary Hansen
SOLD
This is hands-down, without a question, one of the finest large specimens of Wheatley pyromorphite to have survived to the present time, even including institutional collections. It features relatively large crystals to 1 cm with excellent deep green color and is PRISTINE all over this large and exposed display face - a minor miracle! It was one of Hansen's top treasured specimens for many decades and came from one of his museum exchanges. This is a truly significant piece of American mining history.
