Pearceite is a rare silver copper arsenic antimony sulfide and a member of the Pearceite Group. It is also part of the Pearceite-Polybasite series. Discovered in 1896 at the type locality: Mollie Gibson Mine (Molly Gibson Mine), Aspen, Aspen District (Roaring Fork District), Pitkin Co., Colorado, USA. Pearceite was named for Dr. Richard Pearce, a chemist and metallurgist from Denver, Colorado, USA.
