A recent find from early this summer, ffeaturing the brightest and lustrous red (ferroan) variscite crystals i have seen excepting only old and scarce (and more pricey) material from the Iron Monarch Mine in Australia. These beautiful crystals form in several habits from microcrystalline spherical aggregates to discrete 1 mm crystals; and reside amongst other rare species still being studied.

Beautiful rich carpet of pastel pink variscite, unusual here, as well as purple strengite (?) and an unidentified white mineral that is very rich on this specimen. Also with a few discrete crystals as shown in the closeup!

Beautiful spherical aggregates, translucent, of high quality - spaced nicely above 3-dimensional matrix of what seems to be albite blades atop green muscovite.

Incredibly intense, magenta crystals of sub-mm siz,e but spread thickly over contrasting albite matrix so as to be among the more eye-appealing pieces here! As a micro specimen for study or photography, this piece has the best combination of crystal qualities, though it is small.
