CHFLO2-54 - Fluorite - AUS$ 83 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China thumbnail, 2.8 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm

CHFLO2-56 - Fluorite - AUS$ 387 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 5.0 x 3.7 x 3.0 cm
This fancy crystal measures 2.3 cm on longest edge and is perfect all around, hanging off a bit of matrix and so exposed more than usual for a cubic crystal on matrix. It is subtly phantomed with purple cores in green outer layers. The crystal, along with an associated quartz, is perched in muscovite matrix which forms a nice natural knoll. It is complete all around Minute chalcopyrite (?) inclusions add a nice accent when studied close up!
CHFLO2-57 - Fluorite - AUS$ 387 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 3.2 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm
This is a very rare combination from the mine, with a deep purple fluorite (perfect and complete, mind you) richly included by acicular crystals of the rare species bismuthinite. It looks like silver hairs inside the fluorite. Once, these were labelled stibnite or cosalite but I have seen them labelled bismuthinite in recent years though I have not analysed it myself. Now, I am told most people label them stibnite but I am not aware of an analysis i can cite. Minute bits of chalcopyrite are in association on the bottom of the piece. Except for a contact on bottom, a slight one at that, the cube is complete. So far as I know, this is a unique assoiation to this mine.
CHFLO2-58 - Fluorite - AUS$ 498 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 5.0 x 3.6 x 3.0 cm
A totally gem clear, transparent crystal measuring 1 inch across is perched upright on a bit of matrix and accented by thin translucent white calcite blades. This is a very choice miniature from a single cahracteristic pocket that produced a unique style. The quality, the transparency here, is amazing and distinct even from other very fine pockets at this mine
CHFLO2-59 - Fluorite - AUS$ 442 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China small cabinet, 6.4 x 3.8 x 3.7 cm
Riveting, GEMMY, transparent crystals to 1.7 cm are perched on matrix of quartz and yellow muscovite. It is a very colorful combo! The quartz is perfect, pristine, and the whole piece sparkles with lustre.
CHFLO2-61 - Fluorite - AUS$ 664 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 5.1 x 3.7 x 3.3 cm
A SHARP 2-cm crystal, perched on matrix. Perfection in crystal form, and a deep color, combined with the contrasting matrix, make this a superb miniature.
CHFLO2-62 - Fluorite - AUS$ 442 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China small cabinet, 7.2 x 6.4 x 5.2 cm
An INTENSE PURPLE PHANTOM with incredible transparency. This crystal glows with color, and is 2 cm across. It is perched on the "shoulder" of a lustrous quartz cluster , for a very dramatic piece.
CHFLO2-63 - Fluorite - AUS$ 221 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 4.1 x 3.9 x 3.5cm
A large, bluish, phantomed crystal of translucent fluorite….and a floater, overall!
CHFLO2-65 - Fluorite on Dolomite - AUS$ 498 SOLD Shangbao, Hunan Province, China small cabinet, 7.0 x 5.3 x 5.1 cm
A massive stepped cuboctohedron to 4 cm, is perched on spiky quartz on this nice small cab. Intense purple fluorite of this color and saturation is not common for the locality. The piece is complete all around, and the association of minute pyrite bits adds some sparkle. It is pristine.
CHFLO2-66 - Fluorite - AUS$ 498 Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China small cabinet, 7.0 x 5.4 x 4.3 cm
This is a very rare combination from the mine, with purple fluorite cubes to 2 cm included by acicular crystals of either stibnite the rare species bismuthinite (some folks say its one, others maintain it is the other: I havent analysed) . It looks like silver hairs inside the fluorite. So far as I know, this is a unique association to this mine (in either case). The crystals of fluorite are perched on top and form a sharp horizon line, with great sharpness. BETTER IN PERSON!
CHFLO2-68 - Fluorite - AUS$ 2212 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 6 x 5.5 x 3.4 cm
This is STUNNING. The crystal is 2.7 cm across, absolutely limpi dand transparent, and stands dramatically off the matrix on full display. It has a riveting phantom, deep purple, asymettrically included. The overall effect is striking. This is a large miniature or small cab (trechnically), but is in any case one of the finest fluorites in quality I have seen around, for this mine. It is just so stereotypically perfect in its form and symmetry, in its display, but that off-center phantom adds the tweak needed to make it world class for its size range.
CHFLO2-70 - Fluorite - AUS$ 276 SOLD Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China miniature, 4.5 x 3.2 x 1.9 cm
A superb miniature with a sharp, gemmy, 1.7-cm pahntom crystal perched at the apex of muscovite matrix. The purple on yellow contrast is attractive and the phantom inside really makes it more special.
CHFLO2-71 - Fluorite and Quartz on Dolomite - AUS$ 525 Shangbao, Hunan Province, China small cabinet, 6.0 x 5.8 x 4.0 cm
One of the few purple fluorites to ever come out of Shangbao, it seems, this is even more rarified…one of the few purples to come out in the end-2008 dolomite finds. Most of the crystals associated with the dolomite in a series of several pockets were light blues and pastel greens, with a few pinks. This features a sharply phantomed purple crystal about 2 cm across, with others, in a pristine floater cluster with quartz and sparkling pyrite. Overall, a striking combo and quite unique for the locality.
