Very complex specimen with intricate rutile network inside~! Beautiful! 2.6 x 2.4 x 2.1 cm
just a cute combo! 2.8 x 1.9 x 1.2 cm
It is unusual to see crystals of the rare yttrium phosphate, xenotime, but I must say I have never seen one with rutile inclusions. A 2.0 cm in length, cognac colored, gemmy and lustrous xenotime crystal with rutile inclusions sits majestically on a matrix of smaller xenotime crystals. Truly extraordinary! The crystal is 3-dimensional and fully terminated all around! this is a truly oustanding, unique thumbnail or small miniature specimen 3 x 1.9 x 1.2 cm
A transparent, incredibly lustrous, quartz crystal, has grown around the thickest blades of golden rutile I have ever seen included in quartz of this size. The quartz crystal measures 6.5 cm in length and is super-gemmy and clear, with internal brightness. The blades of rutile appear to display chatoyancy and are themselves of high lustre, the best quality. On top of all this, the specimen is on matrix. The back side of the piece is contacted, but this is of no cosequence. Because of the sharp termination, the incredible lustre on both species, the high quality of both species, and the shocking combination they make, I believe this is the best specimen I have seen of this combination I have ever seen in a miniature/small cab size range. It is expensive because the guy I got it from, also knew this. But, for all that the price is higher than i would prefer to have to charge, its worth it for the superlative quality. 6.7 x 5 x 2.2 cm
Shimmering golden crystals of golden rutile, rising from a "base" of hematite - from recent finds in Minas Gerais. The pics makes them look opaque yellow, but they are in person shiny and golden. 3.5 x 1.7 x 0.8cm
A STRIKING and DRAMATIC CABINET specimen of a glassy and highly lustrous smoky quartz crystal filled with lustrous, golden rutile needles to over 9 cm! That is HUGE for rutile crystals! and the beauty is incredible, especially when backlit nicely. The crystal has very interesting stepped faces and the rutile needles grew in all directions. Trivial termination and edge bruising are barely noticeable, certainly not detracting from this showy large piece. This came to me out of Ed Swoboda''s garage and is an older specimen. 14.3 x 7.5 x 6.3 cm
A brilliant, gemmy, doubly terminated, 1.4 cm, deep blood-red rutile crystal nicely attached to pyrophyllite matrix from the old, well-known Champion Mine of California. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 3.8 x 3.6 x 2.7 cm
Shimmering golden crystals of rutile extending from a natural "base" of hematite, from new finds in Minas Gerais. 2.7 x 2.5 x 0.6cm
A STUNNING, transparent quartz crystal filled with brilliant, golden-brown rultile blades from Diamantina, Brazil. It is pristine save for a t trivial termination bruise - certainly not detracting from this very showy piece, in all honesty/ You see first teh incredible rutile inside, then you realize how amazingly glassy the piece is and that it is not polished to be this way! This is, gram for gram, the finest rutilated quartz point i have ever seen! Small, but sooooo choice! 3.6 x 1.2 x 0.7 cm
This gemmy quartz crystal, shot through with glittery golden crystals of rutile, has been faceted and polished along the natural faces to bring out its beauty. 7.6 x 1.1 x 0.9cm
A fine Swiss hematite cluster, with the traditional stacked, flattened crystal form, and high luster which does not show up in the pics. These crystals are complete all around, with the normal contact at the bottom where the specimen was removed from the matrix. Ex. Hauck Collection. 4.3 x 2.9 x 1.1cm
A highly lustrous, pristine, 2.7 cm, deep cherry-red, rutile crystal with a smaller crystal, very nicely set in matrix from the very famous Graves Mountain of Georgia. 8.8 x 7.5 x 5.1 cm
From the recent finds in Brazil, crystals of golden rutile in platy hematite. 2.5 x 2.2 x 0.5cm
A very showy specimen of two, crossed and doubly terminated, water-clear quartz crystals filled with brilliant, golden rutile needles to 1.3 cm on quartz matrix from Diamantina, Brazil. This is very fine material and the trivial edge bruise on the right crystal is certainly not detracting. 5.3 x 4.4 x 2.8 cm
This almost pristine, gemmy, light smoky quartz specimen is heavily included by bright golden needles of rutile. It is a huge specimen and you just do not often see large rutilated quartzes around. The crystals are nearly perfect, and the piece is bright and gemmy, much more beautiful in person than the pictures indicate. 21.3 x 7.3 x 4 cm
