An incredibly complex cluster of cross-hatched crystals of rutile - a thin plate of solid crystals - with hints of red color - from recent finds in Minas Gerais. This incredible complexity is mesmerizing. Slight damage to the outer edges , as is typical from extracting these sheets from the pockets, but no damage to the display face and it really displays well! 5.2 x 2.4 x 0.2 cm

This most interesting pseudomorph is fascinating on both sides. On the back side, limonite/goethite has totally replaced a carbonate mineral, most likely siderite but possibly dolomite or calcite I suppose. On the front or display side, rutile crystals, some in a reticulated twinning pattern, totally cover the specimen by the dozens. The rutile is easy to spot since it exhibits a bright metallic luster and flashes of brilliant red! 11.1 x 10.8 x 4 cm

I have photographed many rutiles, but of all of them this is certainly one of the most aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. It is compelte all around, fairly thick and sturdy, and just mesmerizing in person for the striated complexity of the cluster. This Rutile has a beautiful luster and wonderful architecture. The crystals are also thick and strong, which is a nice change from the many delicate specimens that are more common. BETTER IN PERSON! 2.3 x 1.3 x 1 cm

Well-defined and extremely lustrous on both sides, this is a lovely blade of hematite with classic form for the locality. Lustre is super! The natural contact on the left edge does not detract at all (and points back anyhow), and the red rutiles add to the overall aesthetics. A very showy thumb! 2.8 x 2.4 x .8 cm
