Wulfenite from Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz Co., Arizona, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-158772a.jpg]

4.5 x 4.2 x 2.5 cm. A specimen from what was (sadly) the last pocket found at the Red Cloud before its closing. Isolated on the matrix are two pristine crystals of an intense, translucent orange. The larger measures just over one centimeter. Superb lustre and a rich color marks this last pocket, hence its nickname as the Red gem Pocket, from 2003.

4.0 x 3.7 x 2.5 cm. Lustrous, PYRAMIDAL, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals are richly and aesthetically scattered on this SUPER piece. The longest crystal at the top of the piece is 1.2 cm and is a PSEUDO-CUBIC wulfenite crystal, another habit. It is even HOPPERED! The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein.

13.2 x 12.0 x 10.0 cm. Lustrous, PYRAMIDAL, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals. The crust of HIGHLY vuggy and cavernous, botryoidal, forest-green mimetite of unusual color is an outstanding compliment. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein.

6.9 x 4.7 x 4.3 cm. A STRIKING, OLD-TIME specimen from the famous Mammoth-St. Anthony Mine at Tiger, Arizona. Scintillating, dark emerald-green dioptase microcrystals RICHLY fill a vug on BOTH sides of matrix. A SUPER COMPLIMENT are the glassy, yellow wulfenite crystals scattered about. CLASSIC combo material from this famous locality. Ex. John Ydren Collection.

3.1 x 2.3 x 1.9 cm. A fantastically showy specimen of this classic, but hard-to-obtain material! The attractive, 3-dimensional and contrasting gossan matrix is peppered with isolated, gemmy orange wulfenite crystals. The little wulfenites look like diamonds!

Wulfenite, Dolomite from Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-162986a.jpg]

6.6 X 5.5 X 4.9 cm. This is an important specimen with lustrous and translucent, tabular wulfenite crystals of a unique, electric orange-golden-flecked hue, to 2.5 cm across. The shockingly lustrous, translucent to transparent wulfenites are aesthetically perched on sparkling, ivory colored dolomite. Only the slightest bruising on a few crystal edges, and one small contact on the upper-right of the major crystal, is evident as a minor detraction on an otherwise world-class wulfenite specimen that is still a superb piece by any normal standard. Wulfenite of this quality, with fat translucent crystals of this size and lustre, is almost unheard of from Tsumeb. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.

Wulfenite, Dolomite from Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-163160a.jpg]

7.4 x 5.0 x 4.7 cm. Tsumeb is not known for fine wulfenites, with the exception of a VERY few specimens. The crystal is almost an inch across, about 2.2 cm. It is TRANSLUCENT and gemmy and lustrous, and it is remarkably almost free-standing, hanging out from a stalk of sparkly dolomitic matrix. The crystal is complete and pristine save for a very minor, tiny ding, to 1 crystal edge, which does not affect the overall beauty of the specimen and in fact is hard to see anyhow. This is a major Tsumeb piece that is one of the few which can hold its own with wulfenite from other localities, but is all the more significant for being from this classic mine. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.

3.4 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm. A shockingly fat and well-formed, almost freestanding large crystal dominates this piece. The major crystal is 2.5 cm tall, 2 cm wide and 6 mm thick...very robust and unusual for Tsumeb. It is nearly pristine save for the most minute of dings, and sits perfectly on a natural perch of smaller wulfenite crystals. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.

13.5 x 8.3 x 6.2 cm. An incredible stakeholder's specimen from the 1997 excavations with huge crystals that are ISOLATED on matrix and remarkably without any repairs. The large crystal is 1.25 inches, over 3 cm. Unarguably one of the top pieces of the find, chosen as his pick by Gene Meieran BEFORE the public sale of the material through Wayne Thompson (Gene had an early pick as a financier of the project): chosen for combination of crystal size and isolation of those crystals on matrix (as he prefers big crystals). Ex. Dr. Eugene Meieran Collection.

6.6 x 4.4 x 3.9 cm. Crystals of wulfenite to 0.8 cm that are classic for Los Lamentos in both color and form, with a fine luster. There are several dozen crystals here, and in great condition except for the expected contacts around the periphery.
