KILLER SINGLE CRYSTAL of this very rare species, which has been found in just a few small finds of many years ago (over 20) in this now-defunct quarry in Quebec. EXCELLENT COLOR on this one, among the best I have seen. Lustre is high. One termination slightly contacted, the other intact. Just a killer thumbnail example of the species...

A very elegant, tapering, doubly-terminated crystal of this extremely rare species known at its bet from a very few pockets at this cement quarry, which has incredibly strange chemistry and has produced a number of such rarities. This is one of the more fine single crystals in this size range, I have seen. It is, remarkably, translucent. Most are opaque!

An unusual crystal in that it is very symmetric on all axes, and not distorted as are so many large crystals of this species. It is coated with minute crystals of a brown species, perhaps siderite. When backlit, translucent yellow!

An extremely rare matrix specimen of weloganite from this type locale, with sharp crystals to just over 1 cm. They still have o nthem the original pocket coating which is comprised of several other rare species (primarily dresserite), though this could be cleaned off to show better the yellow weloganite, if desired. A superb miniature of one of Canada's most bizarre weirdly-formed rare species, hard to obtain today. 4.5 x 2.4 x 2.2 cm

2.5 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm. An AESTHETIC thumbnail specimen of the RARE carbonate weloganite, from the Type Locality - the famous Francon Quarry of Montreal, Canada. A 1.3 cm, sharp, hourglass-shaped, hexagonal, light gray weloganite crystal is very jauntily perched on matrix, like a smokestack and is nicely accented with quartz. A very fine representation of this rare and desirable Canadian species.

2.2 x 1.1 x 0.9 cm. This locality has produced the finest Weloganite specimens in the world, and has not produced pieces in over 25 years. This piece is a superb quality thumbnail with classic form, sharpness and the typically yellowish hue. The crystal faces show good luster for this material, and it is translucent throughout. The piece is associated with minor Smoky Quartz on the crystal. Ex. Kosnar Collection.
