A beautiful “V” consisting of two SHARP and lustrous crystals, purple in the middle with grassy green at the bottom and top terminations. 2.2 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm

11.5 x 6.9 x 4.9 cm. This is a fine cabinet-sized specimen of Jeffrey Mine vesuvianite. This is an 11.5-cm wedge of green vesuvianite matrix completely covered with manganoan vesuvianite crystals with the coveted vivid purple color. One end also has complimentary green vesuvianite crystals. They are gemmy little crystals, sparkly and lustrous, that are piled up in ridges and cluster.

4.9 x 4.1 x 1.7 cm. Lustrous, pearlescent diopside crystals richly and aesthetically cover the matrix plate and are beautifully accented with a scattering of gemmy, green vesuvianite crystals on this fine and classic specimen from the Mt. Belvidere Quarries of Vermont. The diopside crystals reach nearly 1 cm and the gemmy vesuvianites 2 mm. Ex. Bob Whitmore Collection.

3.3 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm. Featuring a central 2 cm crystal, doubly-terminated and wine-red, this is a very aesthetic and attractive miniature from this find. These started trickling out 2 years ago at Munich, and the flow has been pretty thin since. This piece is comparable to the classic Italian pieces.

1.8 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm. The Jeffrey Mine, now closed, is well known for its beautiful specimens of both grossular garnet and vesuvianite. This particular specimen is an exquisite thumbnail. It is well formed, translucent, and lustrous, with a rich, emerald green color. These deep green crystals are the rarest of all the vesuvianite styles, and gemmy, elongate ones like this the most so.

5.0 x 3.0 x 2.8 cm. Overall, the finest vesuvianites in the world, both green and purple, came from this great open pit mine. Now closed, the mine produced few specimens of the aesthetic quality of this cluster: which is gemmy, lustrous, and has a very pleasing apple green color. The largest crystal measures 3.3 cm in length. Complete-all-around.

4.5 x 3.8 x 2.7 cm. A sharp miniature featuring a 3.5 x 1 x 1 cm crystal at one end that is highly lustrous dominating the view as it rises above a cityscape of smaller crystals. The large crystal is pristine. The termination is absolutely superb, as if it was faceted. Specimen is shown from both sides.

3 x 2.8 x 2.1 cm. This is an outstanding vesuvianite specimen. The crystals, which range up to 1.7 cm, have a superb luster and rich purple color. They are tipped with a golden-green color and are gemmy throughout. Ex. Wendell E. Wilson Collection.

3.9 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm. This specimen clearly comes from the same pocket as the above, and features a super-lustrous crystal to 3.9 cm length. The termination is absolutely superb, as if it was faceted.

4.1 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm. A single thick crystal, truly equant along A and B axes, and highly symmetrical. The termination is superb and highly lustrous. It is pristine except for the faintest of edge wear, on a few edges.

4.7 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm. An unusual specimen with a rare "pointy tip" on it, capping a complexly serrated, skyscraper-shaped cluster. The tips are perfect and pristine. The cluster is complete all around.

3.4 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm. This specimen features crystals to 1 cm of the deepest grape juice color, and the depth of color is dark but not black and light-absorbing. The crystals are highly lustrous.

4.4 x 4 x 2.5 cm. A superb group of Jeffrey Mine vesuvianite crystals nicely displayed upright on matrix. This piece features three stark, dramatic crystals rising vertically from a plate of massive vesuvianite. The longest is 2.4 cm. All have 3-dimensional, perfect, sharp terminations.
