4.6 x 2.5 x 1.9 cm. This is a fine specimen of bright-red, lustrous vanadinite crystals on bladed, snow white baryte from Mibladen, Morocco. The vanadinite crystals are gemmy and reach 1 cm.
2.1 x 2.0 x 0.6 cm. A compound crystal of deep red vanadinite from Mibladen, Morocco. Ex. Al Young Collection (Idaho).
8.4 x 6.2 x 3.5 cm. These vanadinite crystals ring the ridge of this contrasting black matrix, glittering like jewels. They have excellent luster and fine deep red color; they measure to 0.8 cm. The crystals actually wrap around the backside, where there are many more of them than on the display side - but back there, they have a brown coating.
5.4 x 4.4 x 2.9 cm. This old-time specimen is interesting – chunky pseudocubes of orange wulfenite are covered with tiny, acicular crystals of endlichite (arsenatian vanadinite) that really sparkle. This material was once mistaken for and sold as mimetite on wulfenite due to the unusal form of the vanadinite crystals. Old, from the 1950s-1960s. Ex. Consie Prince Collection.
11.3 x 6.6 x 3.0 cm. Striking, unusual, isolated clusters of highly lustrous, golden-yellow vanadinite crystals are very aesthetically centralized on both sides of the sculptural, wedge-shaped cabinet matrix on this fine specimen from Mibladen, Morocco. The vast majority of Mibladen vanadinites are the gorgeous cherry-red to reddish-orange crystals, not golden-yellow.
A large, impressive vanadinite specimen from a stash saved from mining a few years back, with fine, lustrous crystals to 1.3 cm in 3-dimensional stack standing well out from the undulating matrix, really showing them off at their finest. This is a VERY competitive price for a piece of this size and quality; though there are plenty of mediocre specimens around, the good specimens (such as this) continue to command good money. 10.1 X 8.0 X 5.5 cm
An exquisite vanadinite mini that really stands out from the quantities of lesser specimens that have been coming from Morocco. The crystals are large (to 1.3 cm), super-lustrous, and show wonderful color, and are standing on edge so that the specimen displays beautifully from any number of angles. The crystals are on contrasting white barite blades. No damage. This is just tops for a vanadinite mini! 4.3 x 3.5 x 3.1 cm
9.9 x 5.8 x 3.5 cm. Look how these candy-lustered crystals just show off against the black background of these coated, bladed barytes. The most classic of these specimens have white baryte, but the black is gorgeous too as a setting for the vanadinites. I like how the crystals have formed rows along the edges of the barites - and how they are isolated rather than massed together as a carpet.
3.5 x 3.0 x 1.4 cm. Look at the way these candy-lustrous crystals of vanadinite are perfectly perched along the edge of this thin shard of matrix. These superb crystals, to 1 cm, are actually translucent.
4.5 x 4.4 x 2.6 cm. Splendent, thick tabular, "sandwich-style", caramel-colored wulfenite crystals richly and beautifully covered the 3-dimensional mounded matrix of calcite covered with vanadinite variety endlichite on this showy and excellent specimen from the famed Ahumada Mine at Los Lamentos, Mexico. Highly lustrous, "sandwich-style" wulfenites on white calcite are a classic and desirable wulfenite varietal from this very well-known locale. Crystals reach 9 mm. Ex. Karl Warning and Colonel Barron Collections.
A striking miniature of the old Mexican vanadinites that, before Morocco, were considered among the world's best for species! This piece features xls to almost 1 cm, and has good red color to them. Minor damage here and there, but priced accordingly, I think 5.5 x 5 x 2.75 cm
4.4 x 2.4 x 2.2 cm. These very lustrous crystals have a pretty orangey-rust color to them. This is a matrix-free cluster, with no damage.
6.1 x 4.9 x 1.9 cm. Bright red, lustrous crystals of vanadinite ringing a beautifully contrasting deep black matrix. The backside has larger crystals (and more of them) but they are a brown color and not as pretty as these, so this is the preferred display side.
12.0 x 4.8 x 2.7 cm. A striking cabinet vanadinite specimen from Mibladen, Morocco. A sculptural sliver of matrix is richly and beautifully encrusted with highly lustrous, tabular, hexagonal vanadinite crystals to 1.4 cm. Expertly collected this lovely and dramatic piece is essentially pristine and comes from the early/mid-1980s finds at this very well-known locale. Ex. Dr. Gary Hansen Collection.
Supremely lustrous, gemmy and partially IRIDESCENT deep-red blocky vanadinite crystals from the mid to late-80’s finds. It has to be seen in person to appreciate how darned GOOD the color and lustre are! Now, it is pristine AND complete all around save for one tiny contact on one rear-facing crystal. Anyways, it displays like a banshee and is a KILLER miniature, even despite the flood of recent vana's that came out the last few years. This old material, the best of it , is STILL the best in my book! I know people are feeling blase about them now but you have to remember how few really top-tier pieces there are amongst the thousands of specimens that came out a few years back. Truly great vana's are simply STILL uncommon. 5.0 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm
