4.2 x 3.6 x 2.1 cm. On matrix, glassy and gemmy, reddish-orange vanadinite crystals, to .7 cm across with minor white calcite. Ex. Carnegie Museum Collection.
10.0 x 8.7 x 2.7 cm. Very small vanadinite crystals, but fairly richly scattered on the matrix from this classic locality. Ex. Stoudt Collection.
11.5 x 7.0 x 4.5 cm. A superb cabinet vanadinite specimen from Mibladen, Morocco. Gemmy and lustrous, thick, tabular vanadinite crystals to 1.5 cm are richly scattered on the manganese oxide-coated baryte matrix on this outstanding plate.
4.0 x 3.4 x 2.7 cm. A superb cluster of very gemmy, highly lustrous, blocky, tabular vanadinite crystals from Mibladen, Morocco. Two crystals reach 1.5 cm on this fine piece.
3.0 x 1.8 x 2.4 cm. A fine miniature of candy-lustered, fine red crystals of vanadinite. The crystals measure to one centimeter. There is just the merest bit of matrix - the crystals stand up beautifully.
12.4 x 8.9 x 1.9 cm. On a large, thin crust are peppered hundreds of glittering red/rust-colored crystals of vanadinite.
4.0 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm. A superb cluster of super gemmy and lustrous, parallel-growth vanadinite crystals from Mibladen, Morocco. The sharp, hexagonal crystals reach 2.3 cm on this excellent miniature and some crystals have yellow, internal fire. Ex. Sinotte Collection.
5.4 x 4.4 x 1.4 cm. Super glossy crystals on a thin plate of matrix - not quite as red in person as the photo indicates, a little more touch of rust to the red color. Crystals measure to 0.7 cm.
7.5 x 5.1 x 3.0 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, yellow-orangey-red vanadinite crystals to 8 mm scattered on an upright quartz-rich plate from the famous Apache/Defiance Mine, Gila County, Arizona.
6.5 x 4.4 x 2.2 cm. Classic, thick, tabular wulfenite crystals set on a matrix plate coated with vanadinite variety endlichite (arsentian vanadinite) from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos, Mexico. The highly lustrous, caramel-colored, sandwich-style wulfenites reach 2.1 x 0.8 cm. Ex. John Ydren Collection.
9.6 x 8.1 x 5.9 cm. These old pieces came out in the 1970s. This is a really elegant example of the classic form of vanadinite found here, isolated sharp hexagons on contrasting black stalactites. The individual vanadinite crystals reach 5mm in size, typical of this style and association. The matrix is actually goethite.
Vanadinites of average quality are common, but really fine ones such as this are not and have never been, so they remain quite desirable, and the prices have never really gone down. The thick, super-lustrous crystals on this specimen measure up to 1.4 cm, and are piled high on the display face, giving the specimen wonderful 3-dimensionality. This specimen is from a small stash from finds 3 years ago that was kept back by a European dealer and sold at the Tucson show this year. 6.5 x 5.5 x 3 cm
A large, beautifully-formed compound floater crystal of vanadinite, complete all around and with no damage, showing wonderful hoppering. These huge floaters are underrated as crystal specimens, I think, and are sure to be valued highly when they are not around someday. 3.5 x 3 x 2 cm
5.2 x 2.9 x 1.9 cm. A fine miniature of very lustrous crystals of vanadinite - there are two large parallel crystals here measuring 1.7 cm.
5.9 x 4.8 x 3.8 cm. Very lustrous, even slightly translucent crystals of fine red vanadinite piled up on a matrix of bladed white baryte.
