4.5 x 3.3 x 2.5 cm. A stunning miniature with amazing, complex, hoppered side edges that have gear-like form to them. These also have flashes of internal gemminess and yellow-orange color that are striking. As with much of this pocket, the backside is covered by an oriented secondary growth of powdery brown vanadinite. The front of the specimen is intriguing for the geometric stair-steps of which it is composed, but looking into the top hoppered faces is perhaps more appealing yet. Large crystals to 3 cm.
4.5 x 3.6 x 2.5 cm. A fine Mibladen miniature vanadinite specimen from the finds 8-10 years ago. The front of this multi-sided cutie looks like a cogwheel cluster of intergrown, highly lustrous, brick-red, hexagonal, blocky vanadinite prisms. Many of the blocky crystals have gorgeous flashes of yellow-orange fire on the front, when viewed on end and on the backside.
4.4 x 3.1 x 2.8 cm. A fine Mibladen miniature vanadinite specimen from the finds 8-10 years ago. The front of this multi-sided specimen looks like a cogwheel cluster of intergrown, highly lustrous, brick-red, hexagonal, blocky, vanadinite prisms. Many of the blocky crystals have gorgeous flashes of yellow-orange fire on the front and on one side. The stacked crystals on the sides views are particularly striking on this piece and the crystals have a light brown coating on one side. This is a totally pristine, floater crystal group.
A superb vanadinite from a small cache held back from finds of three years ago and brought to Tucson by a dealer friend this year. The crystals (to one cm) show top luster and great color, and are piled up on a carefully-trimmed matrix that acts as a stand and adds contrast. Mediocre vanadinites are a dime a dozen, but really good ones such as this are just as desirable as ever. No damage to this 3-dimensional hillock, except on the backside and there just a tiny bit at the periphery - it is for all intents complete all around. 6 x 5 x 4 cm
6.5 x 6.1 x 3.2 cm. A stunning "wreath" of vanadinite crystals from a new find near Mibladen, Morocco. Sharp, lustrous, reddish-brown, hexagonal prisms make up this near floater specimen. This is a complete-all-around wreath, as the vanadinites on the back have a brown coating. An unusual, sculptural piece, from any find or of any species.
3.9 x 2.1 x 1.5 cm. A noteworthy and quite unusual stalactite of Goethite with numerous red-orange Vanadinites growing both individually and in an elegant row ending in a ''floral'' spray near the top of the stalactite. The Vanadanites have excellent luster along the edges. The largest of the crystals is .6 cm across. Ex. Charlie Key.
16.4 x 8.6 x 6.1 cm. A beautiful, large specimen with lots of coverage. This specimen is a rare larger plate from the recent find of unusually robust vanadinite crystals. It has dozens, nicely perched on contrasting matrix. Note how many crystals show unusual flashes of orange and yellow highlights on their edges, and have outstanding glassy lustre. The rear of the crystals is coated by a powdery second generation coating, which only serves to enhance the edges showing towards the display face. Despite the size, this piece is nearly pristine.
An old San Carlos Mine big floater compund crystal of vanadinite from Mexico, quite uncommon on the market and worth a couple of hundred bucks easy. The fine terminations are staggered back attractively from bottom to top, and the terminations are complete on both sides. Only trivial damage. A very desirable Mexican specimen! 3.9 x 1.9 x 1.7 cm
Covered with crystals on BOTH sides, this is a very fine and pretty vanadinite with SUPERB red color and dazzling luster. Xls. To 0.7 cm across. Mediocre vanads have been rather common lately, but the really fine color and luster is still quite desirable. 6.5 x 4.5 x 3.2 cm
3.5 x 3.1 x 1.4 cm. A fine Mibladen miniature vanadinite specimen from the finds 8-10 years ago. Highly lustrous, brick-red, hexagonal, blocky vanadinite prisms cover the crest of both sides of the thin wedge of matrix. The blocky crystals have gorgeous flashes of yellow-orange fire. Ex. Jaime Bird Collection.
5.9 x 4.0 x 2.8 cm. This fine specimen is from the very small, late 1970s Moroccan find and was, until the great finds of the late 1990s and early 2000s, considered to be the finest vanadinite on baryte specimens from Morocco. Highly lustrous, blocky, dark red prisms are very aesthetically and richly scattered on the contrasting, white, bladed baryte matrix. The large crystal, at 1.2 cm, is superbly placed. The edges of all the vanadinites have gemmy flashes of golden-yellow fire. All of the very many major crystals are pristine. Highly representative of the species and find. Ex. Karl Warning Collection and purchased from Brad van Scriver at the AFMS National Show in Salt Lake City in June, 1981. Still distinct, to this day, from other pockets.
4.1 x 3.2 x 2.2 cm. A fine Mibladen miniature vanadinite specimen from the finds 8-10 years ago. The front of this multi-sided specimen looks like a cogwheel cluster of intergrown, parallel-growth, highly lustrous, brick-red, hexagonal, blocky vanadinite prisms. The crystals are brick-red to reddish-brown on the backside. The blocky crystals have gorgeous flashes of yellow-orange fire, when viewed on end. This is a very near floater piece, with only one small point of attachment at the base. Very showy and classic material.
6.5 x 4.8 x 2.0 cm. An extremely elegant and aesthetic Mibladen vanadinite specimen from the finds 8-10 years ago. Scintillating, brick-red, hexagonal vanadinite prisms, many with gemmy flashes of yellow and orange richly and attractively cover the sculptural, sturdy, thin matrix plate. The large, very well placed crystal is 1.1 cm and this beauty is pristine.
19.2 x 10.4 x 7.4 cm. An impressive, large cabinet specimen festooned with vanadinite crystals from a new find near Mibladen, Morocco. Sharp, lustrous, reddish-brown, hexagonal prisms to 1.1 cm make up this specimen. All of the crystals are gemmy and some crystal faces show gemmy flashes of yellow and orange fire.
13.2 x 8.4 x 4.5 cm. The highly lustrous, intensely blood-red vanadinite crystals from the 1995-1996 finds at the North Geronimo (Pure Potential) Mine compare very favorably with the best United States vanadinites, including the famous Apache and Old Yuma Mines. This mine is on the same trend and area as the Red Cloud Mine. This excellent, two-sided cabinet specimen is festooned with blood-red to orange-red vanadinite crystals to 7 mm. The largest, gemmiest crystals are on both sides of the piece.
