6.2 x 5.1 x 4.0 cm. An EXCELLENT Tsumeb specimen consisting ENTIRELY of ULTRA-RARE, Holy Grail mineral species. Bright orange sprays to 7 mm of felt-like, acicular ludlockite needles are nicely scattered on a matrix of SOLID germanite ore. A centrally located, 1.3 cm vug hosts a 2.5 mm leiteite (the tall prismatic crystal with gem tip, slightly included with red ludlockite) and a gemmy, sharp, brown, tetragonal pseudo-octahedral, approximately 2mm stottite crystal (not x-rayed but confirmed visually by Drs. Bill Pinch and Terry Seward among others). Tsumeb is the Type Locality for ALL 4 species and stottite, an iron germanium hydroxide, is known ONLY from Tsumeb. An outstanding Tsumeb combination piece of ultra-rare species from the Rob Smith Collection.

4.5 x 2.1 x 2.0 cm. Stottite and ludlockite are two of the very rare mineral species for which the Tsumeb Mine is renowned . It is also the Type Locality for both species. The rich piece of rare germanite ore hosts a small vug that is lined with bundles of brilliant, reddish-orange ludlockite hairs and a 2 mm, gemmy, brown, tetragonal stottite crystal. This crystal is brilliantly lustrous and easily eye visible. This is an excellent combination of the rarities and came from the one-time find at the 30 Level. Well-Crystallized Stottite is unique to Tsumeb. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
