This matrix specimen has a layer of tan, drusy, stilbite, on which are jauntily arranged, several aesthetic clusters of lustrous, deep teal blue, cavansite. Each cluster is about 1 cm across. VERY flashy and colorful specimen! 6.7 x 4.5 x 3 cm
Clusters of deep, royal blue, cavansite, have grown nestled in snowy-white blades of stilbite. The largest group of cavansite crystals is a stalactite of interconnected sphereical aggregates measuring over 3 cm in length. It is a floater , really, complete all aroun dwithin the nest of stilbite (that if removed, would make this a floater barbell-shaped cav, to be sure). The luster of both the cavansite and stilbite is super. The extreme color contrast is just amazing. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! This piece and CM10 came out of a now-famous pocket of such special cavansite that came out around august of 2005 and i bought these two specimens just befor ethe Denver show of that year and then promptly lost track of where I put them til now. These strange floater growths formed in a pod full of minutely crystallized stilbite blades that then fell away with time, seemingly. OUT OF ALL THE CAVANSITE I HAVE SEEN, NEVER HAVE I SEEN ONE QUITE LIKE THIS! 4.7 x 4.1 x 3.8 cm
A thin matrix of weathered basalt hosts pure white blades of stilbite to 3 cm across, complementing two emerald-green fluorapophyllite crystals to 2.25 cm in length. The color is superb! the lustre is glassy! The stilbite displays a high degree of pearlescent luster and the fl-apophyllites, which have flat basal pinacoidal terminations, are gemmy and extremely lustrous. In fact, the larger fl-apophyllite is doubly terminated. 7.1 x 5 x 1.8 cm
An almost 2 cm tall, doubly terminated, light emerald green, fluorapophyllite crystal, rises above its light grayish-white stilbite, to 2.5 cm across, neighbors. Both the fl-apophyllite and stilbite exhibit great luster. 4 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm
If you collect thumbnail size specimens, this needs to be in your collection. An absolutely pristine, 1.5 cm tall, gemmy and lustrous, light emerald green, doubly terminated fluorapophyllite is attached to minor white stilbite. A simply KILLER, and relatively inexpensive for that descriptor, thumbnail! 1.7 x 1.5 x .9 cm
This specimen, because of its deep emerald green color and crystallography, is reminiscent of the very best fluorapophyllites that came out of this area of India more than 25 years ago. Although not on matrix, this specimen does have pearlescent stilbite crystals, to .6 cm across, nestled among the fluorapophyllite crystals with pyramidal terminations. The largest of the lustrous fl-apophyllite crystals measures 2 cm tall. In person it has a GORGEOUS and incendiary color, the most intense green you will EVER find in an Indian green apoph... 4 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm
Simply stated, this is a superior specimen! An elegant, curving cluster of cavansite balls, displaying the deepest royal blue color and almost iridescent luster, has grown across drusy, tan stilbite crystals. The largest ball of cavansite is over 2 cm across. In addition, the base of the specimen has a group of lustrous, doubly terminated stilbite crystals, to 1.5 cm. The color contrast of minerals and the 7 cm long, linear cluster of cavansite, easily make this specimen very desirable and FAR above the crowd. 8.9 x 7.5 x 4.8 cm
A superb cluster of deepest, royal blue, cavansite, with irridescent luster is perched on a matrix of drusy, tan, stilbite. The color is as deeply saturated as they come. The cavansite cluster measures a whopping 4 cm across and 2 cm in depth. Except for minor bruising on the upper curve to the rear as shown, the cavansite cluster is perfect. In person, you just display it a bit more level with the undamaged side facing you, and it glows and shimmers like almost no other mineral. 7.2 x 5.3 x 4.9 cm
A doubly terminated, “bow tie”, of lustrous, light salmon pink stilbite, is pierced by two colorless, chalcedony stalactites. A third stalactite forms the matrix base for this exquisite specimen. The stilbite measures 4.8 cm across and the longest chalcedony stalactite is 4 cm. UNIQUE! 4.8 x 4.7 x 3.1 cm
Thumbnail collectors arise! This competition quality specimen has lustrous, pink blades of stilbite, to 2 cm long, topped by a cluster of tan, translucent and lustrous powellite crystals, to 2 cm in length. Superb example of the species in tn size, and on matrix no less! 2.2 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm
Transparent blades of colorless, gemmy, and lustrous, stilbite, to 1 cm in length, underly and surround deep, teal blue, sprays of cavansite, to 1 cm across. The cavansite crystals are highly lustrous, translucent, and is well arranged throughout the specimen. 6.2 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm
6.2 x 4.4 x 3.6 cm. An aesthetic cavansite specimen from the Wagholi Quarry of India. A 1.2 cm, royal-blue cavansite ball is beautifully perched atop an upright, 3-dimensional, two-sided matrix covered with tiny, lustrous and colorless stilbite blades. The larger, pearlescent, white stilbite blades (to 1.5 cm), of which two are doubly terminated, are a gorgeous accent on this piece.
An AESTHETIC Indian specimen of a 1.8 cm, lustrous, dark royal-blue, bladed cavansite ball beautifully nestled in a vug lined with glassy, transparent stilbite blades from the famed Wagholi Quarry. This is a particularly fine cavansite piece. 7.5 x 5.2 x 4.5 cm
This is truly a wonderful cavansite specimen. It has everything you want. The cluster is BIG (2 cm across). It has fine peacock-blue color. It is pristine and undamaged. And, it sits in a crook in a matrix of sparkly stilbite which wraps attractively around it and frames it. 5.4 x 4.0 x 3.3cm
The apophyllites here are BIG (4.5 cm tall and 3.5 across)! 14.1 x 10.9 x 8.4 cm
