This is the largest specimen of this rare locality stilbite that I got from a collector recently. Interesting and unusual for the US or zeolite collector! 10.7 x 7.6 x 3.3 cm

Stilbite from Ahmadnagar District (Ahmednagar District; Ahmed Nagar District), Maharashtra, India [db_pics/mdpics/MD-34634a.jpg]

A big, dazzling specimen consisting entirely of pretty green stilbite bowties piled up in a beautiful tower: no matrix, just pure stilbite, and the specimen can be displayed from either side! This is most unusual in that the majority of these celadonite-included specimens are of heulandite or apophyllite and not of stilbite. 13.2 x 8.7 x 7.6 cm

Very difficult to photograph and ten times better in person – this is a huge, razor-sharp, transparent calcite crystal 9 cm long, nestled in a concave bed of stilbites and apophyllites. If you like it at all from the photos, you will love it in person, guaranteed – or I will gladly take it back! 15.7 x 13.6 x 5.1 cm

There is not shortage of apophyllites on the market, but a really fine one such as this is still quite desirable. A single, elegant, super-gemmy crystal of 3 cm, with textbook form and a flawless termination, rises in from of a backdrop of creamy stilbites. 4.9 x 4.0 x 3.1 cm

A gigantic bloom of lustrous, yellow-cream-colored stilbite sitting perfectly on matrix! The cluster is complete all around, and the specimen can actually be displayed from either side. Very dramatic and beautiful, an exceptionally large and showy cluster! 14.4 x 11.4 x 9.3 cm

This is one of the most exceptional apophyllite minis I have seen in a long time. The sharply terminated crystal is clear at the top, with a chocolate-colored phantom inside, grading to the classic green as it goes down inside . This crystal has a jewel-like clarity and sharpness. Cutting right across its center is a doubly-terminated stilbite bowtie. I know some people look at this and think its too darned pricey but really, its unique and extremely fine! 4.5 x 3.1 x 3.0 cm

Incredibly bright and gemmy crystals, square with flat terminations, exploding from the heulandite matrix. EXCEPTIONAL apophyllite specimens such as this are still highly valued and should not be underestimated just because there is a large supply of mediocre Indian stuff out there. These came out of a small find hit during a rural well dig, some years ago, and are now vanished from teh market. 8.9 x 5.5 x 2.6 cm

A 7-cm “flower” of salmon-orange stilbite, complete all around and standing well up off the matrix! A very unusual and most dramatic specimen! (More towards orange and less pink than photos). 11.6 x 8.2 x 7.1 cm

Incredibly bright and gemmy crystals, square with flat terminations, growing in two directions from the center, set on a base of pretty accenting stilbites. You’d be hard pressed to find a much better miniature of apophyllite – the form and balance are exquisite, and the piece is perfectly trimmed. EXCEPTIONAL apophyllite specimens such as this are still highly valued and should not be underestimated just because there is a large supply of mediocre Indian stuff out there. These came out of a small find hit during a rural well dig, some years ago, and are now vanished from the market. 4.7 x 4.5 x 3.8 cm

A rare pseudomorph of quartz after apophyllite, the quartz having completely replaced the 1.2-cm crystal. Beside it is a stilbite crystal, and both sit on a bed of pretty blue-green drusy quartz. 6 x 4 x 3.9 cm

Cavansite, Quartz, Stilbite from Wagholi Quarry, Wagholi, Pune District (Poonah District), Maharashtra, India [db_pics/mdpics/MD-37022a.jpg]

An extraordinary “snake” of cavansite clusters runs from top to bottom of the quartz-covered matrix. The cavansites show the best peacock-blue color. A few isolated clusters appear elsewhere on the display face, along with a few stilbites. There must be some reason other than chance that the cavansite balls lined up this way, but I don’t know what it is. You certainly don't see long chains of cav crystals like this very often, nor of such size! 13.4 x 7.2 x 6.5 cm

A beautiful and aesthetic specimen of a lustrous, 2.1 cm, royal-blue hemisphere of cavansite blades nicely set on sparkly, transparent stilbite blades from India. The UNCOMMON, tiny calcite crystals on the right side of the cavansite adds character this piece. 6.0 x 4.8 x 3.4 cm
