Apophyllite-(KF), Stilbite-Ca from Jalgaon District, Maharashtra, India [db_pics/mdpics/MD-254425b.jpg]

17.9 x 13.2 x 10.3 cm. A fine combination specimen featuring a spray of gemmy, glassy, mint-green apophyllites to 2.2 cm leaping out as accent atop an off-white colored cluster of stilbite bowties. The apophyllites all have the same unusually modified basal termination of some of the recent apophylllite finds here, differing markedly from apophyllite terminations of most other pockets in the past. No damage, complete-all-around: the stilbites are 100% 3-dimensional and complete around their terminations which hang off either end.

Calcite, Apophyllite-(KF), Stilbite-Ca from Jalgaon District, Maharashtra, India [db_pics/mdpics/MD-254427a.jpg]

22.4 x 19.8 x 8.6 cm. This remarkable specimen features a 10 x 7 x 6 cm twinned calcite still in situ in a gently curving concave vug of superb, gemmy apophyllite. The calcite is pristine and the apophyllite as well, except only its periphery along the plate's edges. The piece really "sparkles" in light, which reflects off the apophyllites and into the calcite, illuminating it from seemingly more angles than you would expect. A 3-diminsional twin of this caliber, on matrix so nicely balanced, is not at all common.

7.6 x 6.6 x 2.9 cm. Emanating from a wreath of lustrous, cream-colored stilbite crystals, to 3.5 cm across, is a spear shaped, pristine, and transparent, light emerald-green fluorapophyllite crystal. The length of the fluorapophyllite crystal is 6.5 cm in length and it exhibits very good luster. The termination is very sharp. This is an older piece obtained some 20 years ago at the Pandulena Hills Quarry. Ex. Bill and Elizabeth Moller Collection.

8 x 4.8 x 4.5 cm. When minerals are said to resemble "bow ties", this piece and its species are the definitive description. This specimen is deeply colored yellow-orange and does have translucency.

10.6 x 7.4 x 4.2 cm. The only larger stilbite specimen I have seen in good condition, for this locality. It is really quite nice for any stilbite, and reminds me of old New Jersey material. For China, this is something new.

11.6 x 5.7 x 5.4 cm. On a basaltic matrix along with dark gray chalcedony, is perched one of the better heulandite fans I have seen. The glassy luster, translucence, and pastel salmon color are exquisite, especially in contrast to the dark matrix. The fan measures 7.0 cm across. In addition, there is a 1.5 cm pearlescent, doubly terminated stilbite crystal on the heulandite.

Apophyllite-(KF), Stilbite-Ca, Scolecite from Rahuri, Ahmadnagar District (Ahmednagar District; Ahmed Nagar District), Maharashtra, India [db_pics/mdpics/MD-256825a.jpg]

12.5 x 9.5 x 6.5 cm. A stunning, cabinet-sized radial cluster of highly lustrous, colorless to green, cubically-tipped apophyllite crystals, from a now infamous find of 2001. You simply cannot get them on the market, any more. These have a special place in the midst of other Indian minerals and some people call them "disco balls" for good reason. They sparkle incredibly in person. The "tail" of pearlescent stilbite blades and a ball of scolecite are fine accents.

9.2 x 7.0 x 7.0 cm. A fine mounded cluster of lustrous, translucent, color-zoned, blocky apophyllite crystals beautifully accented with pearlescent stilbite blades from recent finds at Nasik, India. The largest crystal is 3.4 cm and many of the crystal corners have octahedral modifications. Complete-all-around and pristine. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.

10.6 x 7.0 x 4.4 cm. A 4.4 cm, gemmy and lustrous, doubly-terminated apophyllite crystal beautifully highlights this fine cabinet combination specimen from recent finds at Jalgaon. The elongated apophyllite crystals are bi-colored and have gemmy, colorless pinacoidal terminations. Pearlescent stilbite blades line the well-prepared vug. Contemporary classic combination material from Jalgaon.

26.4 x 12.5 x 8.4 cm. A huge oval vug in basalt is dramatically filled with pearlescent, flesh-colored stilbite crystals and beautifully complimented with glassy green apophyllite crystals on this impressive specimen from recent finds at Jalgaon, India. The large apophyllite is 6.2 cm and the floor of the vug is covered with drusy quartz. A spectacular, large combination piece from Jalgaon in pristine condition. Weighs 5.5 pounds or 2.5 kilograms.

10.4 x 7.7 x 4.1 cm. The famous Prospect Park Quarry is one of the most impressive zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years. This specimen features rare blue-grey altered crystals of babingtonite which are associated with honey-colored Stilbite aggregates, pale golden Heulandite crystals and Calcite rhombohedra on Quartz. The Babingtonites from this locality are very distinctive, and certainly some of the most attractive for the species from the standpoint of the unusual color. Unfortunately, this great New Jersey locality is being filled in for a housing development (like so many of the great Trap Rock localities in this area), and pieces like this one will be never be collected again. A wonderful full-size cabinet display specimen of this hard-to-find material. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.

4.0 x 3.6 x 2.9 cm. From the great find in late 2007. Chabazite is typically white or off-white in color, but to find rich color crystals like this is very significant. The pseudo-rhombohedral (they're actually triclinic) crystals on this specimen are a rich salmon color with very sharp faces, excellent luster and are aesthetically intergrown to form what is an overall beautiful display piece. The largest "rhomb" measures 1.2 cm on edge. The piece is topped by a lovely golden crystal aggregate of Stilbite.

4.3 x 4.3 x 2.2 cm. An excellent and uncommon specimen of sharp, lustrous, butterscotch-colored stilbite blades from the famous Malmberget iron mines in Sweden. The back of the specimen has cleavages of the unique, electric-green fluorite, which are very rarely available. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
