5.0 x 4.3 x 2.6 cm. This is a very attractive stilbite specimen featuring aesthetic, sharp, lustrous, translucent, olive-brown "bow ties" in a highly divergent pattern. This is classic material from the famous basalt quarries at Paterson, which are over 100 years old. Ex. Don Boydston Collection.
A showy CABINET specimen of highly lustrous pale salmon-pink stilbite blades and clusters nicely set on a contrasting druze of very sparkly chlorite-included quartz from Jalgaon. Stilbite is common enough but really havent seen an association piece like this very often. The contrast in the sparkly quartz and the silky stilbite is really attractive. 14.0 x 11.3 x 6.5 cm
A beautiful and very aesthetic specimen of a VERY gemmy green apophyllite spray set dramatically on a bed of lustrous, bladed stilbite crystals from Jalgaon. These crystals are GLASSY and brilliant, of just super quality! 4.6 x 4.3 x 2.8 cm
A very aesthetic specimen of a highly lustrous, gemmy and blocky zoned-green apophyllite crystal beautifully set on lustrous, pearly-white stilbite blades. 5.2 x 4.1 x 2.9 cm
6.3 x 5.9 x 4.6 cm. On an unusually colorful matrix of stilbite sits a lustrous, white composite crystal of powellite. This crystal exceeds 4 cm in length, which is relatively huge. However, to my thinking, this specimen is further refined by the remarkable sharp terminations at the top of the powellite.
Small cabinet. From a matrix of .5 cm hematite-included stilbite rise two crystals of sharp, diverging, lustrous beige powellites to 4 cm. Both powellites are doubly terminated and for added aesethetics there is a 2 cm blade of stilbite between the two powellites.
6.7 x 4.3 x 4.2 cm. This is an absolutely perfect white, translucent powellite crystal that is 3 cm tall, perched on beige stilbite. But, I like these new stark white crystals as they really stand out and leap to the eye in a way that the older cream-colored powellites did not.
6.5 x 5.4 x 4.5 cm. A beautiful cluster of pearlescent stilbite bowties from one of the most famous Iceland zeolite localities - Teigarhorn. This pristine and complete all-around specimen is from the Don Boydston Collection.
8.9 x 4.5 x 3.9 cm. An aesthetic 2.5 cm wide, lustrous, royal-blue cavansite ball with two prominent cavansite blades aesthetically set on basalt matrix covered with tiny, lustrous stilbite blades from the Wagholi Quarry of India. Attractive, tiny, amber calcite rhombs are scattered on the cavansite ball for a nice accent. This is a superb small cabinet for its own aesthetics and for the crystalography shown: Bladed cavansite of this variety is far less-common, than the cavansite balls. The combination of the blades in the ball is quite uncommon. These are also, large blades.
4.0 x 2.7 x 1.4 cm. A Himalaya tourmaline crystal with a rare association of tan, translucent stilbite crystals. The pearlescent stilbites grew right on a side and the top of the fine, bi-colored crystal. The gemmy and lustrous tourmaline itself is classic Himalaya pink color turning to green at the base. The tourmaline and the large stilbite are pristine. A remarkable and highly unusual Himalaya combination specimen.
11.6 x 7.6 x 2.6 cm. A most unusual and very aesthetic specimen consisting of what I can only perceive as three generations of Heulandite. The first is a greenish-butterscotch set of intertwined crystals with a good pearly luster. This was followed by those very unusual and appealing Heulandites included with Celadonite, the largest of which is 2 cm. On top of these are numerous .9 cm curved Heulandite crystals that are green or tan and zoned. Flip the specimen over and you will find a number of pearly silvery Stilbite blades. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
24 x 22 x 5 cm. A magnificent giant plate composed entirely of superb Apophyllites and Stilbites. The gemmy Apophyllites range up to 6 cm in size, and the orange Stilbites up to about 3.6 cm. The luster is superb, and the richness of all the crystals on this plate makes it extraordinary before you even consider the size overall. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
8.1 x 8 x 4.7 cm. A fine combination piece of excellent mint green Apophyllite and bone-colored Stilbite. The Apophyllites, which range from 1 cm to an amazing 4 cm, are lustrous and partly gemmy. The Stilbite habits are bladed to the famous bowties, with superb luster, and most are about 4 cm in length. Both the Apophyllites and Stilbites are absolutely classic for their respective species. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
13.8 x 7 x 4 cm. A superb spray of clear, gemmy Scolecite needles liberally sprinkled with mm-size crystals of Apophyllite (or possibly Calcite?). At the base of the 12 cm Scolecites is a lovely set of pearly Stilbite crystals up to 3.5 cm. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
4.2 x 3.5 x 1.7 cm. A fine and aesthetic combination specimen from one of the closed quarries at Poona, India and the Jaime Bird Collection. An upright, pearlescent, colorless stilbite bulb looks like a tree or shrub and is beautifully complimented by a lustrous, prismatic, green apophyllite crystal resting against another stilbite blade. The crystals are set on the shard of mordenite matrix.
