8.1 x 5.3 x 4.5 cm. This is a wonderful floater specimen where a very large single crystal of apophyllite has grown around a smaller one and a stilbite at one of its ends, multiply-terminating around these two crystals. The apophyllite is complete all the way around and has pretty multiple terminations at the other end as well. The apophyllite grades from a frosty white to a more transparent green at the other end. The stilbite is a very faint peach color, and is complete and uncontacted.

7.4 x 6.4 x 4.2 cm. A large, pristine cluster of peacock-blue cavansite on a sharply contrasting matrix of sparkly stilbite crystals, from India. This fine cluster measures 2.5 cm across. As you can see, the radial crystals are bunched in groups so you can see some dimensionality on the surface rather than its being a dense ball with an undifferentiated surface.

A really stunning, really different zeolite specimen - featuring isolated, doubly-terminated crystals of silky stilbite on matrix, with small crystals of peacock- blue cavansite sprinkled on them. Gorgeous! 8.5 x 5.7 x 3.5 cm

No, this is not an aquamarine, but a gemmy, tabular APOPHYLLITE crystal, 3 cm across! It sits up on its edge right next to two accenting stilbites. The crystal is actually clearer than it looks: you are seeing a knob of matrix right through the crystal itself. A quite uncommon specimen of a too-common species, and beautiful at that. 7 x 6.3 x 4.5 cm

You just have to take Indian minerals seriously when they get this exquisite - a large CROSS consisting of two intergrown, doubly-terminated stilbites of a delicate peachy-pink color. It is complete ALL AROUND and perched on a small base of stalactitic quartz, to boot. A striking and desirable specimen by any standards, head and shoulders above the mass of zeolite specimens, and certainly deserving of a place in a fine collection whereas we might look down on many others. 8.5 x 6.5 x 3.8 cm

This is a large, classic old Poona piece, with crystals to 5 cm radiating out in two main clusters from a bed of stilbite. EXCELLENT COLOR and contrast! Stilbites have grown on the back of the apophyllites as well. The apophyllites are well-centered on the matrix, giving the piece an attractive overall form. 10 x 7 x 6.8 cm

These are a few of the shocking US stilbite specimens I saw with a dealer at the Detroit show back in October. I couldn't find where I put them til now! I had never seen the material and it seemed pretty, cheap, and unusual as well as darned good for a US stilbite locality. Very fine, manila-colored crystals with VERY bright and shiny lustre. The crystals have translucent terminations and well-striated sides. These are good examples for any stilbite, let alone the USA. Crystals to 1.5 cm. This was the best large specimen I saw available in a selection of about 2 flats of the material. 10 x 7 x 3.6 cm

I had never seen the material and it seemed pretty, cheap, and unusual as well as darned good for a US stilbite locality. A very nice specimen of bright and manila-colored stilbite crystals. The luster and terminations are very good, and especially for the location! You will be hard-pressed to find better from the USA. The largest crystal is 2.5 cm long and .8 cm thick! 5.5 x 4 x 3 cm

A VERY RARE SPECIMEN of cavansite perched on this odd matrix, which seems to be a powdery yet solid acrystalline zeolite (mordenite?) coating small crystals of stilbite and the basalt matrix. It looks like somebody took a neon blue marker and colored a ball, and simply stuck it on white flour! The contrast is striking, obviously, and more dramatic than on almost any other cavansite specimens I know of. I have seen just half a dozen specimens from this pocket over the years, and this particular one I first saw about 6 years ago when I sold it to a good customer of mine at the time they came out. 8.5 x 8 x 3.5 cm

16.8 x 13.8 x 11.4 cm. A large, freestanding floater "sculpture" of bowties of shimmering stilbite with gemmy, colorless apophyllites, from India. The densely intergrown crystals have formed loops with "windows", adding to the aesthetic attractiveness of the piece.

19.4 x 13.8 x 8.3 cm. Another large Jalgaon piece - this, an intact pocket loaded with crystals of peachy stilbite intergrown with large, gemmy, light green crystals of apophyllite (to 3.5 cm). These are apophyllites of the "blocky", flat-topped style rather than the pointy crystals; their tips are water-clear and jewel-like.

8.3 x 5.6 x 4.5 cm. A superb and aesthetic Indian specimen of a 2.9 cm, doubly terminated, frosted, lustrous, color-zoned, sea-green apophyllite crystal beautifully set on matrix of contrasting, pearlescent, snow-white stilbite blades. The apophyllite is actually glassy and striated. Ex. Steve Smale Collection.

12.8 x 10.8 x 8.9 cm. A large, aesthetic Indian specimen that has been carefully trimmed out to feature right in its center a spray of lustrous crystals of apophyllite (the spray measures around 5.5 cm in each direction). Also left intact below is a little "shelf" with a cluster of very peach cluster of stilbite crystals. The snowy quartz creates a striking background.
