A downright AMAZING and unique kunzite gem crystal, more glass-like than any I have ever seen. It has a weirdly flattened form. As mentioned, the luster and clarity are absolutely like glass, and the faces are razor-sharp. There is a shallow contact cleave on the back side where the specimen was removed from matrix, but it does not detract from this extraordinary gem crystal. 4.9 x 3.1 x 0.6 cm
A VERY GEMMY and LUSTROUS, pristine, doubly terminated, pastel-pink kunzite crsytal from Nuristan, Afghanistan. The C-axis end photos really show the vivid pink coloration of this spodumene. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection, who purchased this piece in 1976 at the Tucson Show. Material from Afghanistan and Pakistan was just beginning to trickle out then. 6.1 x 4.4 x 2.0 cm
A huge crystal of light pastel-yellow spodumene, TERMINATED, with the upper third quite gemmy! This monster weighs in at a cool 559 grams!! Could cut a BUNCH of stones, but I hope this will not happen to this super-impressive specimen! In person, it is a bit more colorful, more gemmy, and more impressive than pics can indicate. the top termination in particular is nice! 29 x 4.6 x 2.5 cm
A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME collection of 11 gemmy and lustrous, green Hiddenite crystals to 9 mm from the Type Locality in North Carolina. The yellowed Wards label attests to the age. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. Thumbnails 9 mm - largest
A gemmy floater kunzite crystal, showing nice pink color, terminated all around, with just one contact. Weight: 47.5 grams. 6.8 x 4.1 x 0.4 cm
A big, fat, fine kunzite gem crystal weighing over 250 grams! It is complete all around, terminated undamaged, and shows fine transparency through its entire length! Most importantly, you ahve the textbook sharp termination which you almost never see in practice, in a big kunzite gem crystal. Usually they are etched, or asymmetric. This is starkly sharp! The crystal grades from a pale pink at the top to a more intense pink at the bottom. 10.3 x 3.2 x 2.9cm
I cannot say enough about how impressive this huge gem crystal of kunzite is. It is actually far more impressive in person! This crystal actually weighs 1365 grams , or OVER 3 POUNDS, and most of it is GEM material! The specimen actually consists of two intergrown crystals, both terminated. But one of the two is supremely good, and constitutes the display side of the specimen. This crystal is as clear and gemmy as could be, all the way through, and over an inch thick (with the intergrown crystal added, you''re talking TWO INCHES thick so there is lots of gem rough material here). It is a fine deep pink grading to a very light green towards the bottom. The termination is sharp and PERFECT, and you can look into it (through the C axis) and see all the way through the five inches of kunzite from top to bottom! 15.6 x 10.5 x 5.5cm
A big, fat GEM CRYSTAL of kunzite, perfectly terminated, complete all around and gemmy throughout! Of pastel lavender color, this impressive gem crystal weighs in at 155 grams! The termination si truly remarkable and sharp! 7.3 x 3.4 x 2.9cm
A fine, sharp and gemmy crystal of light green spodumene, with an excellent chisel termination. The crystal is in very good shape, with only a small contact on the back side where it grew against something. YOU can see through this crystal quite clearly! 6 x 1.5 x 1.3 cm
It is very difficult to find matrix kunzites - the vast majority are freestanding crystals. There are actually two crystals here - one is not complete and is buried in the matrix, but the othehr is complete, terminated, and well-exposed. It measures 5 cm across. Ex. Gene Meieran Collection. 13.8 x 2.6 x 1.1cm
MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, I MUST SAY FIRST! This marvelously etched, water clear, highly lustrous, doubly terminated crystal of pastel green spodumene is a thing of beauty. It truly looks like a piece of modern sculpture and the effect in person is mesmerizing more than pics can convey. TRUST ME, this is NOT your typical Afghani spod...the Brazilian pieces of this quality have an ethereal brightness and play of faces all their own, and are much more rare. THE TRUE COLOR IN PERSON IS A UNIQUE PASTEL GREEN, HARD TO CONVEY IN PICTURES DUE TO THE GEMMINESS OF THE PIECE - CLEAR LIKE GLASS, SO THE CAMERA LOOKS RIGHT THROUGH IT. A huge stone could be cut from the center of the crystal. This is pristine, and free of any damage at all. It is compelte and 3-dimensional all around, and entirely transparent. I was offered a similar piece some years ago even then, for $6000, by another dealer. These are extremely rare in this quality, and the price is very fair, I think. But, its hard to agree til you've seen it in person... 8.6 x 5.2 x 4.1 cm
This is a gigantic kunzite crystal, complete and terminated - translucent-to- transparent, with fine lilac color. Depending o nthe lighting, it is either lilac or pink, form different angles, but it is quite attractive from amny angle, really. The whole hting is translucent. There is no appreciable damage on this monster crystal! The termination is SHARP! . Note how sharp the termination is, too?! Very rare for large kunzites to have such a sharp termination. This one comes custom-mounted on a lucite display base. 24.5 x 8.4 x 1.7cm
AN AMAZINGLY SHARP CRYSTAL!!!! SO SHARP, SO GLASSY, you'd think it was a selenite! 2.4 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm
Talk about color! This lilac kunzite has DEEP PURPLE COLOR: NOT PINK, but a true PURPLE. It is particularly intense on the long and shortest axes. I think the pics speak for themselves, here! The kunzite is also doubly-terminated, complete on the bottom as well. I will make a base so it can display nicely without having to be glued down. Tourmaline in association with kunzite is extremely uncommon and I have never seen a piece with quite the aesthetics of this one, with a beautiful 6.5-cm tourmaline hitching a ride. Oh...it IS GEMMIER and more TRANSPARENT IN PERSON! 21.7 x 7.5 x 2.7 cm
This MONSTER is a complete floater, intact all around and weighing 6.6 pounds or about 3 kilos! It is sharp, gemmy, and very VERY impressive in person. Show it to laymen who want to see a "big gem crystal" or the sophisticated collector, and its equally awesome. PIC DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE! 31.2 x 7.1 x 5.2 cm
