A glossy, showy Eastern Euro specimen combining lustrous, euhedral sphalerites with shiny-metallic galena crystals, the largest showing architectural hoppered growth. Sharp quartz points accent the matrix. 6.5 x 4.6 x 3.5cm

A beautiful and excellent combination specimen from Romania of lustrous, twinned, black sphalerite crystals to 1.2 cm with lustrous chalcopyrite and pyrite crystals on a bed of transparent, needle quartz crystals. Ex. Ed Ruggiero Collection, who purchased this piece in May, 1987. This is one of the last pieces that Ed ever purchased, as he quit collecting in 1987. A bit of periphery damage is certainly not detracting. None of the major sulfide crystals are damaged. 9.7 x 8.8 x 3.0 cm

A CLASSIC, old-time Tri-State District combination piece of lustrous octohedral galena crystals to 1.8 cm, some hoppered, with two generations of sphalerite on chert matrix from Joplin, Missouri. The second sphalerite generation consists of tiny, super-gemmy, cherry-red crystals. A very flashy, undamaged specimen. 9.5 x 7.4 x 4.3 cm

A classic old Eagle Mine combo: sharp, brassy chalcopyrite crystals on a matrix of shiny, euhedral sphalerites. This specimen has a really nice balance between the two minerals, and a large chalcopyrite with wonderful form sits up perfectly on the sphalerite. A superb representative mini for this combo! 5.1 x 3.9 x 2.9cm

A VERY SHOWY, nearly complete all-around, combination sulfide specimen from Concepcion del Oro, Mexico. Mirror-bright, brass-yellow pyrite cubes to 1.0 cm rest in matrix with coated, tetragonal chalcopyrite crystals to 1.7 cm and striated, lustrous, olive-green sphalerite. Trivial damage, overall and with only two small points of attachment. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection, who purchased this piece in June, 1975 from the Columbine Rock Shop in Ouray, Colorado. 6.7 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm

A CLASSIC, old-time, Tri-State CABINET specimen of a large, metallic-bright, 7.3 cm, stepped galena cube jauntily perched on a bed of lustrous, light pink, dolomite rhombs on silicified, limestonte matrix with lustrous, sphalerite crystals on the back. A STRIKING and SUPERB, old-time, Tri-State specimen of a large, lustrous and striated, 5.2 cm, black sphalerite crystal nicely perched on light-pink dolomite rhombs, which are thinly to thickly sprinkled with small sphalerite and iridescent, chalcopyrite crystals. This fine old-timer from Oklahoma is from the old dealer stock of Dr. Gary Hansen and hasn"t been shown since the the early 1980s! A small contact on the back of the large sphalerite crystal is totally out of sight. 7.5 x 5.5 x 5.5 cm

A SUPERB, AESTHETIC and pristine sulfide combination piece from the Hauron District of Peru. A cluster of highly lustrous, black sphalerite crystals sits in a valley surrounded by "mountains" of bright, brass-yellow, twinned chalcopyrite crystals. The twinned chalcopyrite faces have different reflectivity due to the reflection of light off of microscopic tetrahedrite crystals. CHOICE material from the Gene Meieran sulfide collection. 6.2 x 5.7 x 1.8 cm
