5.9 x 5.8 x 5.1 cm. This crystal weighs 254 grams. A shocking, complete floater garnet crystal of large miniature size. This large crystal is sharp and equant all around. The crystal is much more gemmy and translucent in person, and glows intense fiery orange when backlit strongly. For the size, this is unusually well preserved.
17.5 x 13.5 x 9.3 cm. This specimen is a rare large schorl and matrix piece from the mine. As a bonus it has a sharp 1.5 cm Spessartine crystal sitting within the cast of a former, larger crystal, perched on beautiful and large matrix of albite and schorls. For the matrix, itself, this is a classic specimen and you rarely see such in large size. Most larger pieces from here are quite broken up. This is an old piece from Louis Spaulding, the mine owner. Ex. William Larson Collection.
17.5 x 13.2 x 4.6 cm. A huge matrix plate of beautiful white albite just sprinkled with lovely, wine-red garnets. Unusual for the county, especially to get such a large plate with all the geologic disruption here. This was collected in 1986 or 1987. Ex. Chuck Houser Collection.
19.4 x 17.6 x 9.0 cm. A huge and fine plate with deep smoky quartz crystals to just under 2 inches, and just an incredibly sparkly carpet of evenly sized spessartine crystal all over the plate. Front and back are shown – it’s nearly a pocket floater.
7.2 x 4.7 x 3.5 cm. This beautiful matrix specimen features a 1.5 cm, very gemmy crystal perched in matrix of albite. It is much better in person, brighter and more lustrous. The garnet crystal is the seed of a daisy chain of little garnet flecks that crawls through the pocket and to the back of the piece, perhaps grown from the partial etching of the original large crystal. Rare material, nowadays.
2.3 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm. An elegant pair of Spessartines perfectly placed on a matrix of feldspar. The deep red color is superior, and the luster so incredible that it makes every little speck of dust that settles on it glow. Ex. Wendell E. Wilson Collection.
2.7 x 2.2 x 2.0 cm. When these specimens first started emerging from Pakistan, they were (and still are) regarded as some of the finest crystallized Spessartine specimens in the world. They are, arguably, the finest red Spessartines available today. This is a pretty thumbnail, which consists of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich orange-red color “textbook” trapezohedra of Spessartine creating a lovely "cluster". The largest Spessartine crystal measures 1.0 cm across.
17.2 x 6.2 x 4.0 cm. A striking, elongated, large cabinet plate covered with very gemmy/sparkly reddish-orange to orange spessartine garnets to about 4-5 mm and nicely accented with glassy, smoky quartz crystals from recent finds at Tongbei, China. Classic, very rich and large material from this noted Chinese locale.
28.3 x 18.5 x 11.8 cm. At over 12 pounds, and just about a foot in length, this is a huge garnet plate. It is, amazingly, pristine. This is because it was very carefully collected by the mine owner, from whom I obtained it. It has very sharp, translucent smoky quartz crystals to 4 cm, on top of two generations of feldspar crystals (most of them a nice contrasting white color). And, the highlight is the liberal topping of gemmy, jewel-like spessartine garnets sprinkled atop.

15.9 x 10.9 x 9.4 cm. An impressive, architectural, 3-dimensional, large cabinet combination specimen from recent finds at Shengus, Paksitan. Large, up to 3.5 cm, gemmy and lustrous, cherry-red spessartine garnets are nestled amongst or flank a striking parallel-growth cluster of pearlescent, silvery muscovite blades. One side hosts a dramatic T-shaped, combination cluster. A 7.0 cm wide cluster of gemmy spesartines caps a 5.8 cm tall, lustrous and striated schorl crystal. There are even a couple of gemmy aquamarine crystals to 1.7 cm and quartz crystals hidden amongst the muscovites. The whole piece rests on snow-white albite.
Very gemmy and lustrous orange garnet crystals to 5 mm attractively set on albite matrix from the recent Chinese finds. 4.5 x 4.1 x 2.1 cm
9.1 x 7.8 x 5.8 cm. Several lovely muted-red colored, gemmy, lustrous modified/etched trapezohedral Spessartine crystals sit atop porous, etched, lustrous white blocky crystals of Albite with minor Muscovite. The piece is very three dimensional showing beautiful overall form and aesthetic quality. I don't remember seeing Spessartine like this from Pakistan before, and it is certainly different for Shengus.
10.8 x 7.8 x 3.4 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, burnt orange spessartine garnets to 5 mm richly cover the mounded cabinet-sized feldspar matrix on this fine specimen from recent finds at Tongbei, China. The 5.0 cm, lustrous, translucent, partially garnet-coated smoky quartz crystal is a fine accent. Highly representative combination material from this noted locale.
Sharp, highly lustrous crystals to 0.4 cm, scattered across and nicely isolated on the matrix. 7.0 x 5.1 x 3.0 cm
5.3 x 4.8 x 3.9 cm. A tremendous spessartine specimen from the well-known Aggeneys deposit. The large main crystal is an amazing 2.7 cm, well-formed, and translucent under good light. The deep cinnamon color is exactly what you would expect. The smaller Garnets are about .7 cm in size. gemmier, lustrous, and have a more cherry red color. They complement the main crystal beautifully. Certainly, one of the best Garnets I have seen from this region. It is aesthetic and superb. Ex. Charlie Key.
