8.5 x 7.8 x 7.0 cm. A fine super-rich specimen of rare yellow, cadmium-rich smithsonite crystals from the famous smithsonite locality of Berg Aukus. These large, gemmy to translucent scalenohedrons, to 1.8 cm, are piled up thickly all over the matrix. Ex. Mark Feinglos Collection.

12.3 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm. A superb specimen of lustrous well-defined Smithsonite casts after Calcite. The largest of these casts is an amazing 2.4 cm. They are lustrous, numerous, and very well-preserved. Old material, from the early 1900s or late 1800s. Ex. Charlie Key.

4.9 x 4.0 x 2.9 cm. Nestled in a limonite vug is a cluster of "rice-grain" crystals of translucent, sky-blue Smithsonite , with individual spheres reaching .6 cm across. Aesthetically emplaced between the matrix and the Smithsonite are tightly packed spherical aggregates of Aurichalcite, to .2 cm across. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.

15 x 11 x 6 cm. This is a large plate of densely intergrown, botryoidal, translucent, smithsonite, which exhibits a high quality satiny luster, along with superb blue coloration. The spheres reach 1.5 cm across. The smithsonite averages 1.5 cm thick, by the way, on top of limonite matrix. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.

6.6 x 3.1 x 2.6 cm. A rounded knob completely covered with large (to one centimeter) crystals of smithsonite, with a pretty, pale pink color from cobalt. The crystals are ornately modified, rhombs with curving faces, and a beautiful sheen. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.

9.3 x 6.3 x 2.8 cm. A crust of translucent, lustrous, apple green, botryoidal, smithsonite has grown almost totally around a thin septa of matrix. The largest botryoid reaches 1.0 cm across. Dug by George Stevens and George Godas in the late 1980s. Ex. Dr. Edward David Collection.

3.3 x 2.7 x 2.4 cm. A fine miniature of pink Tsumeb smithsonite (which gets its color from cobalt content). The crystals (to 0.8 cm) exhibit fine luster and transparency, and are piled up richly.

9.8 x 6.6 x 6.3 cm. This fine specimen features a large vug filled with lustrous, translucent and flattened, sea-green cuprian smithsonite rhombs. The matrix is a solid box-work of sparkly, black willemite botryoids. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.

7.2 x 5.9 x 4.0 cm. A fine, old-time combination specimen from Bisbee of pastel-green, botryoidal smithsonite covering both sides of the mounded, vuggy gossan matrix. The smithsonite is beautifully accented by sparkly, amber calcite microcrystals. On the back, powder blue chrysocolla balls to 7 mm are aesthetically scattered in a large vug.

6.6 x 3.9 x 2.4 cm. A superb example of pink cobaltoan smithsonite from Tsumeb. These crystals are big, to one centimeter across, and they are also very sharp and lustrous. Their isolation in patches on the matrix.

7.4 x 5.1 x 3.7 cm. A fine, classic, Kelly-blue smithsonite specimen. This is a 3-dimensional, mounded, two-sided specimen on silicified limestone matrix. The primary side has exceptional, isolated smithsonite botryoids, with the backside having the more typical intergrown botryoids. The front is further highlighted by a scattering of very desirable, smaller, "rice grain" smithsonites. The smithsonite has excellent translucence.
