6.6 x 3.5 x 1.7 cm. A 42 gram piece of solid plate silver from old Canadian mines in Cobalt area, coated with micro erythrite and bornite to give it a natural colorful iridescence!
6.0 x 5.2 x 2.2 cm. An EXCELLENT, VERY RICH, OLD-TIME specimen of nicely burnished, dentritic, spinel-twinned silver wires on calcite from the famous Ringnesgangen Mine near Kongsberg, Norway. The longest wire, at the top, is 1.5 cm. Choice material from the George Elling Collection.
5.7 x 4.7 x 3.0 cm. An AMAZINGLY sculptural specimen from Pribram. It looks like a piece of art mounted on a custom-make base, but what we have is native silver wires and plates pseudomorphing dyscrasite crystals beautifully set atop banded matrix. A classic, old-time and one of the best pieces from the Josef Vajdak Collection, a Pribram specialist.
4.8 x 2.7 x 0.9 cm. A SUPERB and AESTHETIC, hydra-like wire silver specimen from the OLDEST important Bolivian silver locality - the Porco Mine in Potosi Dept. The ropy texture of the thick wire and the silver burnish are especially attractive.
3.6 x 2.7 x 2.1 cm. SHARP, nicely burnished, silver crystals to 8 mm are attractively scattered on milky quartz matrix along with hackly, platy silver on this fine old-timer from Michigan’s famous Copper Country. Some crystals look like octahedrons.
3.8 x 2.6 x 1.0 cm. Lustrous, sharp silver octohedrons are nicely scattered on lustrous to matte-finish platy silver on this showy, old-timer from Niederschlema, Germany. Classic material from a rare find of the late 90s.
4.5 x 1.8 x 0.7 cm. An aesthetic and superb CREEDE, COLORADO specimen of curved and curled silver wires. An old-time piece, beautifully burnished and RARELY available in this quality.
3.2 x 2.5 x 1.4 cm. An NEAT, showy and old-time Copper Country combination specimen of three, crudely crystallized silver "balls" resting on crystallized copper with a nice patina and accented by green epidote and a bit of calcite. Silver balls are a rarity from Copper Country and this is a pretty darn good piece. Ex Seaman Museum Collection.
13.8 x 8.3 x 2.3 cm. A HISTORIC and IMPRESSIVE native silver from the famous Cobalt District of Ontario, Canada. This sculptural, arrowhead-shaped CABINET specimen is a THICK silver plate and has a very nice patina. The bit of matrix quartz is a nice accent. Silver was discovered at Cobalt in 1903 by railroad workers and a silver rush soon followed. This super piece was collected at the famed Nipissing Mine in 1907, according to the accompanying label. Ex. Ed David Collection. Hefty at 402 grams or 14.2 ounces.
1.6 x 1.5 x 1.0 cm. An aesthetic, solid thumbnail nest of bright silver wires from Pribram. The nice, little wire cluster at the top is particularly attractive, as is the protruding single wire on the side. Ex. Dick Jones Collection.
4.5 x 3.5 x 2.4 cm. A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME and sculptural specimen of acanthite-coated silver crystals from Kongsberg. This aesthetic piece has stacked elongated crystals that bifurcate and form a showy "rack" of moose "antlers." Ex George Elling Collection.
9.3 x 5.5 x 4.8 cm. An old-time, rich ore specimen of microcrystaliized silver, acanthite and pyrite from a classic Mexican locality - the Sierra Nevada Mine, Vetagrande in Zacatecas. Ex. Harvard and George Elling Collections.
5.7 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm. A superb, branching specimen of elongated, cubic silver crystals with nice patina from the famed Quincy Mine of Michigan. The super sharp, 1.4 cm, elongated crystal with the chisel termination at the end of the piece is striking. A portion at the other end has a pronounced cubic, hoppered appearance.
3.5 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm. Typically the Silver specimens from Bolivia are somewhat "flat" and boring, but this piece is amazingly aesthetic for a Bolivian Silver. It is a fine, very good size (for this mine) group of wires with a tan silvery color. This is a great thumbnail specimen from a classic Bolivian locality. The mine at Porco is THE oldest and most significant Silver mine in Bolivia.
7.0 x 4.6 x 3.3 cm. An OLD-TIME, EXTREMELY RICH ore specimen, cut and polished on one side, of nearly solid native silver and richly included with bright, yellow flecks of chlorargyrite, visible on the cut and polished side, from Broken Hill, Australia. This old-timer is definitely from the upper oxidized zone of this world famous locality. Ex. George Elling Collection and hefty at 10.6 ounces or 303 grams.
