This is an old, nugget-style silver/copper halfbreed from Calumet. A nice, thick 2-cm chunk of silver crowns the top of the specimen, with copper forming a natural “base.” Very sculptural. Came with an old Prosper Williams label. 5.7 x 3.6 x 1.7 cm

Silver, Copper from Keweenaw Co., Michigan, USA [db_pics/mdpics/MD-38448a.jpg]

This is the most sculptural of the small lot of Keweenaw Peninsula silver and copper "half-breeds" that I purchased a couple of years ago. The silver is shaped like a boot or sock. It is also unusual, in that, there is far more silver than copper. Typically, there is more copper than silver.. Here, this hefty thumbnal nugget has more silver than copper. 2.0 x 1.8 x 0.3 cm

Silver, Bornite from San Martín Mine, San Martín, Mun. de Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico [db_pics/mdpics/MD-38500a.jpg]

This is a substantial (not flimsy) sheet of silver still embedded in its bornite matrix. The bornite is a pretty, irridescent purple and blue. In the pic, the grayish material between the two chunks of bornite is the sheet of silver, which extends as a vein inside both bornite chunks, so it is the size of the entire specimen. 4.7 x 4.4 x 1.6 cm

Silver, Dyscrasite from Příbram, Central Bohemia Region, Bohemia (Böhmen; Boehmen), Czech Republic [db_pics/mdpics/MD-39160a.jpg]

This is really quite a good specimen. To see Silver in such an unusual habit, even knowing that it is a pseudomorph, is eye catching and mind boggling. The luster of the fine Silver crystals is very good. This is an excellent thumb with great aesthetics 2.5 x 2.1 x 1.3 cm

Silver, Pyrargyrite from Oruro Department, Bolivia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-39475a.jpg]

An amazingly large and sharp crystal of silver sitting on a bed of smaller crystals, all sprinkled with tiny Silvers and Pyrargyrites. Even though this is a thumb, that single large crystal is impressive for any silver specimen. Really quite remarkable. 1.7 x .8 x .7 cm

2.5 x 2.5 x 1.0 cm. A fine copper specimen from the Turjinskii Mine of the Urals. Two diverging columns of sharp copper crystals rise up from the main shaft, which includes a very sharp copper octahedron. One column is capped by a horizontal, 1.4 cm spinel twin. All of the crystals have fine patina and lustre. The piece is partly intergrown with native silver and a bit of quartz. Dating to the 1800s. Ex. It is almost impossible to find a well-balanced, MATRIX Kongsberg in ANY size but a thumbnail is exceptionally rare compared to larger specimens. Elegant series of flowing wires with superb luster and aesthetics literally leap off this rock matrix. And it’s a Kongsberg! SUPER silver thumb with real elegance! 2.7 x 2.2 x 1.5 cm

This large copper-silver “halfbreed” is from the world renowned, but long depleted, copper deposit in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The specimen is a slightly rounded nugget with good eye appeal. With the unusual silver knob atop, it is a very compelling specimen and unusual in teh richness of both metals without showing intermixing. Over 9 ounces, or 265 grams! 8.3 x 4.6 x 2 cm
