MD-117627 - Siegenite - - Archived Buick Mine (Amax Buick Mine; Moloc Mine), Bixby, Viburnum Trend District, Iron Co., Missouri, USA small cabinet, 6.3 x 5.2 x 2 cm.
6.3 x 5.2 x 2 cm. Excellent matrix specimen richly covered in highly lustrous metallic Siegenites. The crystals, which range up to .5 cm, are anywhere from octahedral to a modified dodecahedron in habit. There are also associated carbonate rhombs on the specimen. SIGNIFICANT FOR THE SPECIES FOR OVERALL SIZE AND CRYSTAL SIZE.
MD-162518 - Siegenite, Dolomite - - Archived Sweetwater Mine (Milliken Mine; Frank R. Milliken; Blair Creek; Ozark Lead Company Mine; Adair Creek; Logan Creek), Ellington, Viburnum Trend District, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA small cabinet, 6.5 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm.
6.5 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm. Silvery and bright siegenite crystals richly cover sulfide matrix on this very fine combination specimen along with off-white dolomite rhombs from the famous Sweetwater Mine of Missouri’s Viburnum Trend. Scattered, golden chalcopyrite adds color. The siegenite "ball" perched atop siegenite and dolomite is very attractive. This is older material and is seldom available in this quality. Siegenite is an extremely rare mineral from these mines and is found at its most significant here. Rather, it was. No finds I am aware of came out since the 1980s. This is a superb example from the Gary Hansen dealer stock.
MD-261467 - Siegenite - - Archived Buick Mine (Amax Buick Mine; Moloc Mine), Bixby, Viburnum Trend District, Iron Co., Missouri, USA thumbnail, 2.4 x 2.4 x 1.2 cm.
2.4 x 2.4 x 1.2 cm. Siegenite is an uncommon cobalt, nickel sulfide and is an extremely rare mineral from Missouri’s Viburnum Trend. Isolated, extremely sharp, isometric, steel-gray siegenite crystals are very aesthetically scattered on the matrix crust and are nicely accented by contrasting chalcopyrite microcrystals. The lustrous siegenite crystals reach 5 mm. This thumbnail is very high-grade, older material from the famous Buick Mine and is seldom available in this quality. Ex. Carl Davis Collection.
