8.8 x 8.0 x 6.5 cm. An UNUSUAL and showy stalactite of lustrous to matte-finish, brown, botryoidal siderite from the famous Campbell Shaft at Bisbee. A very high quality gangue mineral specimen from this very famous district. Complete all-around. Ex. Dave and Emily Stoudt Collection. Rarely do you find such good display quality siderite from Bisbee.
3.5 x 3.4 x 1.7 cm. Gemmy, sparkly and lustrous, dark cherry-red proustite microcrystals are FESTOONED on both sides of the sculptural, vuggy crust of this CLASSIC, OLD-TIMER from the famed Schneeberg District of the Erzgebirge. The two, glassy, colorless, nail-head calcite crystals are a beautiful compliment to this highly representative and showy "ruby silver" from this historic mining district. There are even some brown siderite crystals on one corner.
5.7 x 5.4 x 3.8 cm. A showy and excellent, old-time combination specimen from the famous Neudorf area of Germany. Lustrous, translucent, yellow-green siderite rhombs and sparkly, ruby-jack sphalerite crystals are nicely clustered on matrix covered with sharp, water-clear quartz crystals on massive, layered quartz and sphalerite matrix. Highly representative OLD material, as the mines closed in 1903.
9.9 x 8.7 x 0.4 cm. A fascinating old New Mexico silver specimen, a slice through a mixed-matrix ore. Locked inside the matrix, you can see the tree-like (dendritic) forms of native silver, which actually crystallized in these pretty forms rather than just being massive - which is normally what you see in these mine slices. Ex. Dave Stoudt collection.
7.8 x 4.8 x 3.6 cm. A RARELY AVAILABLE and SUPERB siderite specimen from the famous Rist Emerald Mine at Hiddenite, North Carolina. A lustrous, super-sharp, 2.7 cm, olive-green siderite crystal is aesthetically attached to matrix covered with sparkly pyrite microcrystals and smaller siderite crystals. This EXCELLENT specimen was mined in a famous series of finds in the 1960s and is from the Ed David Collection.
5.4 x 4.5 x 3.0 cm. A RARE and showy Tsumeb Mine occurrence of GEM, golden-brown siderite scalenohedrons nicely scattered in a vug in massive chalcocite ore. The siderite crystals reach 6 mm on this excellent specimen from the Rob Smith Collection. The siderite ID was suggested by prominent rare species collector, Dr. Mark Feinglos and confirmed by XRAY. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
5.2 x 3.4 x 1.2 cm. The dominant mineral is fluorapatite in glassy, colorless crystals, to 0.7 cm across. Golden amber crystals of siderite are also evident in crystals .2 cm in length. Blackish green crystals of kulanite, a barium, iron, manganese, magnesium, aluminum phosphate, to .5 cm across are also present. There may also be micro crystals of brazilianite present. Ex. Martin Zinn Collection.
3.0 x 2.0 x 1.8 cm. The piece features a superb quality, sharp, highly lustrous, deep inky blue color Lazulite crystal with gemmy brown Siderite rhombs on matrix.
4.6 x 3.5 x 1.6 cm. Sharp, deepest-azure-blue crystals of lazulite on quartz - the classic association from this locality! The lazulite crystals are mostly around 5-6mm. Tim Blackwood Collection.
5.7 x 4.3 x 1.8 cm. This fine specimen is crowned by an 8 mm lazulite crystal and nicely accented by a scatterting of gemmy, amber siderite crystals. The lazulite-free areas are covered with sparkly quartz microcrystals. Ex. Marty Zinn Collection, # 8477.
2.7 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm. This is a fine thumbnail specimen of kegelite. The somewhat gemmy brown-red crystal in the middle is a remarkably sharp and lustrous siderite. It’s a nice accent to the rolling carpet of extremely rich, microcrystalline kegelite. Ex. Walter Kahn and Eric Asselborn Collections.
2.9 x 2.7 x 2.7 cm. Sabinaite is rare sodium, zirconium, titanium carbonate found in only two localities worldwide, both in Canada. Tan sabinaite crystals are nicely scattered as clusters and isolated crystals on the combination matrix of siderite and porcelaneous analcime crystals.
13.1 x 7.6 x 3.5 cm. A cluster of gemmy, parallel-growth, colorless quartz crystals to 7.0 cm in length has grown on a matrix of smaller quartz crystals. Covering the matrix are bladed crystals of translucent, rosy-brown, siderite to .75 cm across. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
12.9 x 8.8 x 6.3 cm. A stately quartz specimen out of the Richard Hauck Collection, combining a whole range of classic Panasqueira minerals. Two tall quartz crystals, with chlorite in back, rise above a field of smaller crystals, decorated with translucent green fluorapatites, along with muscovite and siderite. To top it off, there are also crystals of ferberite and arsenopyrite to be seen. Old classic material from the 1960-s-1980s.
7.0 x 5.0 x 3.5 cm. A classic, superb specimen of highly lustrous and translucent, light gray dolomite rhombs festooned with brassy, tabular crystals of cubanite and pyrrhotite and richly accompanied with glassy, yellow-green siderite blades from the 1960s find at the famous Morro Velho Gold Mine, Nova Lima, Brazil. The larger hexagonal crystals are pyrrhotites and many of the smaller crystals are cubanites. Ex. Minette Collection.
